Hoover SteamVac how about HotWaterVac
First let me say that overall I think the Hoover Steamvac V2 does a decent job shampooing the carpet but it is deceptive to call it a Steamvac. Easy to use, good product, weak tool suction
Did lots of research before buying. Performance was much more of an issue for me than price since I plan to use it for many years and many times. I think of price on this type of item on a per use cost. There isn't really much difference between $199 and $279 after 10 uses. Even less after 20.

JUNK!!! JUNK!!! JUNK!!!
Someone asked me to explain more of the problems.....
I never used the attachments... wanted the machine for an elderly dog (My almost 15 year old Golden... have had her since she was 9 weeks old). Arthritis makes it difficult on some days to use the doggie door.

A problem they cannot/will not solve; a real lemon.
I purchased my Steamvac April 2005. After the first cleaning, the clean water tank was leaking. Instead of returning it to the store, I called the 800 number as asked and they said they did not know what the problem was and sent another tank. Amazing with the amount of dirt it removes
(We actually bought model #F7431-900 but it is identical to F7425-900). It is amazing the among of dirt it removes. We had brand new carpet put in 7 months ago. Hoover designed this to fail so they could make money on replacement parts
I'm the father of 5 small children, so a steam vac is a must. I bought this unit about 2 years ago. Poor build quality and results. Not near the quality of a rental machine.
First time buying a Hoover product. Returned it and will not buy another. Amazing Cleaning Ability (but will it hold up?)
My wife and I brought a dog home from the pound about a year ago. Marty's a great little guy but he has a problem that causes him to throw up rather frequently. As a result of this, the beige carpet in our living & dining rooms have taken quite a beating.

Can't live without it
The V2 is our second Hoover SteamVac. We used the first one for five years, and having two large dogs, we used it often! We definitely got our money's worth out of the first one, and we are delighted with the new V2 model. We have been using it for over a year now.
