My Honda Civic: My Little Champion
This review is about my purchase of a used 2003 Honda Civic which I purchased in December, 2010.
First I must say, I absolutely love my 1997 Lincoln Town Car. It is the most sensational car I have ever owned and although I have owned, driven and was a passenger in many other cars,...

Very Dissappointed....
I purchased a 2003 Honda Civic and was very excited thinking I purchased a dependable car.... well I was wrong!
I have had it 4 years, gone through 4 power steering pumps, I have a leaky power steering rack and have now been told my alternator is going... I am now looking at purchasing a Mazda...

I love it as much now as when I brought it home.
I signed a 4-year lease on a 2003 Honda Civic LX on May 31, 2003. For $172/month, it was the best deal I could find (I didn't want anything over $200.) The closest that anybody came at that time was about $198 for a Chevy product, but I had my heart set on a Honda. I've always had luck with Hondas... Read full review »
Very Enjoyable Economy
I was searching for a decent used car to replace my tired '97 Ford Ranger, the Ranger could have kept going for many years to come but we do want a family sometime soon. So, my search led me to a 2003 Honda Civic LX coupe, very basic, with low miles. Problem was I had no experience with hondas at... Read full review »
Extremely Reliable, Practical Transportation
I purchased my used 2003 Civic w/ 28,000 miles on it from a local dealership. I was a little wary about purchasing a used car from a private individual, and the dealer provided me with a warranty at no cost, so I felt reassured. I also had m mechanic check the car out prior to purchase just to be... Read full review »
With wonderful fuel efficiency, do you really need a hybrid?
What we have:
4-door sedan LX style
Manual transmission
1.7 liter engine
We purchased this car in 2003, when it only had 36 miles on the odometer. At the time we decided to purchase we were not really in the market for a new car, but we knew that we would need to upgrade to...

I LOVE THIS CAR!!
I have a 2003 Honda Civic coupe EX. I bought it in 2003. Since I am a college student I needed a dependable car that got good gas mileage because my school was about 70 miles away both ways. I am short so I could not get a spoiler because it was hard to see out the back. The seats are very... Read full review »
Economical and Sporty
We bought this car brand new and haven't looked back since. It's a nice, stylish sedan that you don't mind taking other people out in and it also has a sporty feel to it and accelerates quickly when you need it to. It's great on gas, which has been essential when the gas prices soar. We have the... Read full review »
Just Good
First of all, what I have:
2003 Honda Civic LX 4dr
1.7L engine
Manual Transmission
I purchased the car in 2003 with 3500 miles on it (was a demonstrator car or something). Since then I have put nearly 80,000 miles on it and am about to sell it as I have bought a Truck. More...

Love it!
I absolutely LOVE this car! We purchased it used with 29,000 miles on it. I commute from Stafford, Va to Arlington, Va everyday, 40 miles each way, so this vehicle allows me to get on HOV lanes. I average 49-50 miles per gallon, my husband gets about 45 mpg, due to his lead foot. The acceleration... Read full review »
Traded in before warranty expiration
We traded this car in on a 2005 Prius while it still had some warranty miles on it. Broken motor mount at 23,000 miles, computer problems, rattle in the dashboard that was maddening and unfixable (there is service memo on this problem to Honda shops but our shop said it didn't apply to this... I'm never going back to gas-only again.
I love my '03 Civic Hybrid. I've had it for 2 1/2 years, and I'm looking forward to several more years behind the wheel.
I bought this car because I'm a pragmatic environmentalist. I believe that green technologies will only be developed as the market demands them. With this purchase, my...

Nice car without looking weird (like the Prius)
We bought this car to be used as a commuter car in LA. I knew we would save money on gas but I was surprised at just how much.
It runs well and we have had absolutely no problems with it in the two years we've had it.

The HOV Buster !!
If you do not like in Northern Virginia this may not be a big deal for you - but in NoVA the hybrid is allowed on all Interstates where there is HOV2/3 (High Occupancy Vehicle) limits on minimum number of passengers.
The hybrid is a greater commuter car - gives decent mileage (better than...

Good value but questions remain.
This is my first (and last) new car, it now has 30k miles. We live in upstate NY so most of my experience with this car is in winter conditions. I'm an engineer in linear systems.
Cost: $20k minus approx. 3.5k in tax refunds = $16.5k
I'm an avid kayaker and have mounted a Yakima roof...

Almost pays for itself!
I settled on the Civic Hybrid because of the fuel economy and the reputation Honda has for making cars with great resale values. Since I bought mine in 2003 I have totally fallen in love with it.
It is a "compact" car but my six month old daughter's car sear fits easily in the backseat...

Nice idea, but not what I expected from a Honda
I have owned numerous cars, including 3 Toyotas. I have always wanted to own a Honda, but never seemed to get around to buying one until the Hybrid came along. Being a renewable energy fan and watching gas prices skyrocket, I decided to get the Civic Hybrid. Hey-- 50 mpg! Save the planet! It's a... Read full review »
It's a Honda what can I say!
The price is a bit much but it's a great car with a lot of personality! The gas mileage is outstanding and it's a cute and fun little car to drive around town in! Read full review »
From SUV to ULEV - Gas Guzzlers No More - Car Seat Info Here
My wife and I were gas guzzlers. In the summer of 2003 our gas bill was consistently north of $200/month, topping out at $300 one month. She drove what some people call the yuppies mini-van (1998 Nissan Pathfinder) @ 15MPG, and I drove (and still do) my 2002 Ford F-150 (someone has to be able to... Read full review »
