Always a good option for used vehicle
Recently we had to replace a used vehicle, so naturally we looked at the list of best used cars available and of course Honda is on the list. After some searching, we found an EX Accord with V6 that had a recently been rebuilt engine, new transmission, and the owner was mechanically inclined... Read full review »
very durable!
The 1998 Honda Accord has been a great car for me in the 6 years I have had it so far. It gets good gas milage and is relatively cheap maintenance wise, as long as one keeps up on the maintenance regularly. I find the accord to be very durable and hold its value well. I plan on having this car for... Read full review »
What's not to love?
I have been driving a 1998 Honda Accord LX Sedan for about a year now, and I must say, I have been blown away. It drives and handles like an absolute dream, and has plenty of power to boot. I have the 4-Cylinder model, and even though the V6 is surely much more powerful, the 4-Cylinder w/ VTEC... Read full review »
1998's Generation Six Honda Accord Coupe: Just what You'd Expect
When you leave your car at a dealership for an extended period and get handed the keys to a loaner, you always hope for the best: when Amber said I'd be driving a loaner from my local Honda dealer, I - of course - inquired about the availability of a shiny new S2000. Heck, I didn't even demand... Read full review »
Perfection on wheels
Why someone would give a Honda Accord a 2 out of 5 on reliability because one thing went wrong is beyond me. This is a great car as are all Honda products. We have taken it everywhere and you can rest assured we will never buy another American Car after driving Japanese. If American automakers... Read full review »

Even Better Than it Looks.
Some vehicles look much better than the experience of ownership would validate.
I own an 1998 Accord Coupe,(in fact, it is the exact vehicle pictured on this site) and though it is a head turner, the car is actually a better vehicle than it looks.
This will be my third used...

Best Value for your Money
I've been driving a Honda since 1990 when I bought my first Civic while in College. Can you believe I still have it with more than 250,000 miles.
Yep, so when I graduated college and went to work, I went out and bought a 1998 Honda Accord EX. I knew for the money, this was the Best Value...

Excellent Fuel Efficiency
I have owned a 1998 Honda Accord 4d Sedan for 6 years. It receives about 24 mpg. That is very essential in a car today with gas prices rising to over $2/gal. An excellent buy. Read full review »
Good Car, even when used
This car is a good car. Simply put. It responds nicely, especially when avoiding an immenent object. I was skeptical of the VTEC 4-cylinder engine but after driving the car I've found it to be impressive. This car is a good car, but tall people will find it to be somewhat cramped... but only after... Read full review »
A good car marred by Un-Honda like quality control problems
The Good
After buying used 3 Accords, a Prelude and an Integra in the past, buying a new '98 Accord Coupe LX V-6 was an easy choice. The car is great on the highway - it has good acceleration, a smooth ride, good handling and a very strong engine, especially when the transmission drops...

Best family sedan without a doubt
I have been driving the 1998 Accord LX Sedan for five years. Purchased in 1998, drove it for about 70,000 miles and still driving. I would only sell it if I need an SUV or Minivan.
You might feel that my opinion stated in the few sentences above is biased being an owner of the car, but...

excellent car
I bought this car with 60 k + miles. drove it 20K before i traded up. spent 110.00 on a muffler, which besides gas and oil changes was the only expense. This vehicle was 100% reliable and rode good for a small car, it came with cooper tires 195/65/14 which handled great however the cabin noise was... Read full review »
I miss this car so much.
This wasn't actually my car, it was my parents'. However, I did spend a lot of time in it and I loved it. I got a chance to drive it a few times and it was a dream.
We bought the 1998 Honda Accord EX Coupe in the V6 automatic transmission, February of 2001. Before we found this car, we...

1998 Accord
Excellent car. I was not pleased with level of cabin noise, but keep in mind I came in from an Infiniti Q45 luxury sedan.
For the car that we owned, initial acceleration seemed to "hesitate," but we were told by dealer that was normal for this car. Was an irritant for us, but may not be...

Honda a solid buy
Bought as demo in 1998 with 10k miles. Top of the line EX with sunroof, spoiler, tint, power. Had 4 cyl which lacks power but does ok- keeps wife from tickets. I recommend buying the LX instead of the EX because theres not much difference except price. EX sticker: $23,999 ; DX sticker: $18,999. Only... Read full review »
Great Car!
I leased this car new in May, 1998, and liked it so much three years later that I purchased it. I now have 45,000 miles on it(7/3/2002).
The car is very comfortable, handles smooth and fun to drive. Controls are very conveniently placed and easy to use. The climate control, radio with...

The new V6 has serious problems
When Honda came out with the new 200hp engine in 1998 all Honda lovers cheered. Now 4 years later when they have been put to the test there is now evident, a serious problem with the transmissions. I have gone to other web-sites and heard the same thing on the v6. After 70,000 miles many of the... Read full review »
Old Reliable - The Best of the Modern Family Sedans
I drove our '98 Accord EX for almost three years, and now my wife is happily driving it. It has been virtually trouble free and a capable performer - what you expect from a Honda.
1998 marked the last major redesign for the Accord (a new Accord is due in the fall of 2002), and while it's...
