My wife has a back massaging heating pad that's pretty much lightweight and doesn't do the deep massaging that I happen to like. My daughter brought home a Homedics Therapist Select Shiatsu + Massaging Seat Cushion, the Sbm 300, for herself. This baby does give the deep massage that I like.

Update 7/21/08: Okay, our massager broke again! The controller broke after 10 months, we sent it back and it worked well for about eight months, but suddenly the shiatsu rollers won't move up and down, and the regular rollers don't work at all. My husband received this massager cushion from me at Christmas. I bought it for him because he works outside doing strenuous muscle work and he has soreness on a daily basis due to lactic acid buildup.
