The Hitachi DZMV230a Digital Camcorder I bought was a lemon. From day one I have had trouble with it. When I first turned it on and tried recording, it lasted about 15 seconds then stopped by itself. I should have returned it at this point.

Overall, great camcorder
DVD RAM and R disc work in my all my 1-3 yr old DVD players. I've only been able to find them at Circuit City and they are expensive as compared to a tape or memory stick.
