Pros Easy to use, good battery life, lots of features
Cons Low quality video
Recommended it? Yes

I love this camera. I have had it for a couple of years now. It is very easy to use. It takes great pictures. It has a lot of features that I don't even use. The pictures are clear. It is easy to transfer your pictures to your computer it you choose not to use the SD card for that. The battery life... Read full review »

Shattered LCD Screen A Fluke?

byteryssmith Sep 15, 2006
6 Helpfuls 7 Helpfuls Was this review helpful? Comment
Pros Terrific Camera for the Price
Cons LCD Screen Cracks/Shatters
Recommended it? No

The LCD Screen on my HP R707 has shattered twice, both times without dropping or knocking the camera up against anything or exposure to any extreme temperatures. The first time, it was covered under warranty and HP sent me a new camera. The second time was 14 months after I received the new camera... Read full review »

Value-For-Money! GREAT for a beginner! Barely there for a pro-sumer.

Pros Sharp 5 megapixels. Built in Panorama guide+preview Unlimited video!
Cons No Manual (shutter priority) mode. Lousy Macro. Poor autofocus in low light!
Recommended it? Yes

I've used many different digital cameras (Nikon, Canon, Sony, Minolta, Fuji, Olympus) before, and I wasn't sure what to expect from HP.

The metal front body is excellent. I'm a sucker for smooth svelte metal finishes. It's the same as my Fisher and Paykel refrigerator. The rubber-like... Read full review »

Pros Great design, red eye reduction, good price
Cons upper midgrade optics (could be better, but the price would probably skyrocket)
Recommended it? Yes

The HP 707 caught my eye because it's an HP that simply doesn't look like the typically boxy HP. I'd heard good things about the new HP line this year; apparently they've won a few awards, nothing I could testify to mind you.

When I picked up the 707 the first thing I noticed was that it... Read full review »

Pros Light weight, sharp LCD screen, quick easy view.
Cons make sure it's focussing on the correct objects.
Recommended it? Yes

This camera is absolutely great! It has 5.1 megapixels which allows you to blow up your prints and still have good quality rather than image-y photos. Be sure to get an SD card and perhaps a card reader with your purchase to make things easier. Another good thing is that it has more optical zoom... Read full review »

Pros PRICE!!, 3x optical and 8x digital, easy to use menu GREAT SHOTS!!
Cons Zoom button could be bigger, not much else to pick on.
Recommended it? Yes

This is a great camera. I looked at many different cameras Sony, Canons and the rest of the usual suspects. Then a saw an ad for this and I had to check it out. The features truly set this camera apart form all others. Not to mention that you are really getting a 5.1 mega pixel camera for the price... Read full review »

Pros Sleek design. Not bulky. Easy to use.
Cons Takes too long to charge flash. A lot of red eye.
Recommended it? Yes

I bought the HP R707 in the summer of 2004. I haven't had a whole lot of problems with it since I bought it, but there are a few things that peeve me off about it. But we'll start with the good things:

It's a very sleek looking camera. Nice design. Not too bulky (they keep making cameras... Read full review »

The HP R707 is one of those cameras that everyone can pick up and use because of its user friendly style and its many options & accessories available which will keep you interested. My favorite option is the built in red eye remover thats available after the picture has already been taken, which I... Read full review »

Pros Ease of use
Cons Terrible HP Software, subpar tech support for software
Recommended it? Yes

The HP R707 is everything that a beginning to intermediate photographer would want. Fairly intuitive controls, lots of features, great camera resolution, and simple to use for basic shots with the ability to adjust everything from lighting to resolution for complex shots. Read full review »
