Inexpensive and Reliable
I seem to go through HP printers at a great rate for a home office setup, however this model 3820 has been with me for over a year now and shows none of the problems of the previous deskjet inkjet models I've used.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER
My 3820 failed after about 6 months of light use - roughly 500 prints, mostly black text, near the end of the first black cartridge, and shortly after the brief 3 month warranty had expired. HP3820
I've bought two 3820s now...first one made good quality pics, second one is garbage. Tab on back door breaks easily and the result is printer chewing up photo paper and spitting it out. HP deskjet 3820 unbeatable value
I already have a HP DJ930C and a DJ948C.
On offer was the DJ3820 in Melbourne for a few dollars more than the cost of the #15 and #78 Inkjet cartridges
so I bought it as a spare for the family.

Jack of all trades, master of none.
I've been able to print a variety of items sucessfully with this printer. The simple black text document prints quickly and high quality. Photos look good, but not great on photo paper. If not using photo paper high quality images will suffer from graininess.
