Home Office, SECOND occasionally used printer, great buy
April 16, 2007 UPDATE: When the original toners (that came with the printer) were only 30% low, all the paper printed with a kind of "marbled" background. The manual indicated this is a sign the "toner is low," but 30% full is hardly low! Long story short, many hours with HP tech support (in Costa... Read full review »
Good printer for personal or small business - when it works!
I work in Marketing Communications and having a desktop color laser printer is a great time-saver. I recently burned up my old Magicolor 2300DL and it was time to get a new color laser.
I chose the HP 2600N for several reasons. Mostly because of price, performance and it gave a decent...

HP 2600N - Engineered robbery
If you have read the reviews, chats, reports and such that HP's new smart chips embedded in consumables such as their toner cartridges will require you to replace the cartridges before they are empty, believe it! I read at least one report stating that the cartridges would not work after 3 months,... Read full review »
Not what I expected from HP
Well what can I say, I bought one of these yesterday and diligently followed the directions to hook it up. I selected the USB hookup. Everything went fairly well and all test prints were perfect. The first thing I noticed was how the paper discharge chute is located. It dispenses back to the rear... Read full review »
Love having A Color Laser Printer
I wanted to get away from the outrageous priced inkjet cartridges. This is the printer that allowed me to.
The setup was simple on my self installed wireless network at my home.
I was able to print out a test page in about 2 minutes after I set up the printer.
The...

HP2600n too expensive
Color toner cartridges went out fast when printing photo. The page count is recommended 3% coverage. Who prints 3% coverage nowadays? Read full review »
A good deal for the price
Let's start this way, I paid approx $350 Canadian for this printer - I wasn't expecting a $4000 color printer quality.
It comes pretty close though, I am impressed with it.
Setup - take out of box, plug in network cable, run setup software, done. Simple as that, even behind a...

Other Factors To Consider Before Buying HP2600n
Even with the optional cartridge out override available from the front panel, this printer is not a heavy duty office type device. The reason has to do with the way printers are rated for number of print cycles per cartridge. All laser printers have cartridge ratings(number of pages printed) based... Read full review »
It's cheap for a reason.
To see an HP color laser for $299 and Mac compatible, I was totally excited. That's too bad because I got my hopes up and wound up stinging mad.
The print quality of printing photos was horrible. Colors were washed out by 40%. Blacks were gray, reds were orange. The manual tray feed...

Great printer for the price
Printers have come a long way. A few years ago a networked printer would have cost over $1000 more than the non-networked version, and laser printers weren't cheap either. For $400 it was worth trying out. This product is probably a leader, so I would expect HP and others to come out with more... Read full review »
