Lets you do just about everything except look at porn
Okay, so I tried to think up a title that would make this seem a little more interesting than the bland review of a calculator that it is. Having failed miserably in my attempt, I'll go straight to some information about the 49G in the hope that I'll have better success at that.
While it's...

The last calculator you may every purchase
I'd like to give a short introduction before I really start my review here. I am a 17 year old high school student, and I just finished my junior year. I take the most advanced math that my school offers (Academic Trig, Advanced Algebra, Analytic Geometry, and Probability and Statistics this past... Read full review »
A great calculator if you take the time to learn it.
I first started out using a TI-85 in early high school. Then I switched to the HP48GX. At first it was difficult to use because I was not use to the RPN. By the end of the day, I saw why RPN is so much more efficient.

the screen is in black instead of blue(hp48) which is much much better.

Overkill, and disappointing to fans of the old HPs
Before I get to the meat of this review, I have to say that the 49G is really a marvel of technology. It has incredible symbolic math capabilities, and can perform nearly any calculation (including things like FFTs, all sorts of matrix operations, etc).
But really, you have to ask...

Awesome Calculator!!!
I think I could express my opinion on this calculator pretty good now...I've owned it for a few months now. First thing first, the User Guide packaged with the calculator really sucks...and I recommend going to HP's website and viewing the Advanced User Guide. The basics of this calculator are...
