Brilliant little device - excellent signal.

Dreadful customer support and less than useless software supplied.

The Bottom Line:
Since the set up and customer support was so dreadful, I can only give it two stars - unfortunately, as when it works, it is a brilliant little device.
I bought this device recently in the UK, and spent a week trying to get it to connect. The signal in one room of my home was almost non-existent, and I was looking round to purchase some type of signal booster, as I did not want ethernet cables installed throughout my home. I spent over a week trying to get the device to work. Customer service in the USA don't reply to e mails. The telephone number given meant that I could not use VOIP technology to ring USA technical support.
When I did manage to speak to the Europe customer support - they were based in Holland. There were problems in communicating in English and their only help was to suggest that I send the device back.
I had heard that the software supplied with the device was problematic. I installed the device without the CD - let windows find the drivers from the CD which I installed AFTER windows had found the new hardware - and it worked like a dream in just 5 minutes. The almost non-existent signal that I previously received in my daughter's room became very good or excellent. So far - it has worked fine - over a week, no freezes or other problems. The router is an Orange Livebox, including VOIP facilities, which is not always happy working with different hardware.
Brilliant device - shame about the software.
Hawking should really sort out their technical support. I think that the Hawking Technical is the worst that I have ever received. Even Orange technical support attempted to get it to work for me online.
