In 2007, Steve Jobs proclaimed himself the iGod of the cellular world. As with every dictatorship, it only takes one idea to destabilize the hold on industry. In this case, the G1 is that device.

Running on the Android OS by Google, the G1 is a technically sound device. Android supports... Read full review »

*** Update Oct 2009
I continue to enjoy and depend on this phone, having used it regularly for about a year now.  I realize that it gets better reception than other phones, since unlike my wife's phone (a Samsung Behold) it does not drop calls in the same places on the same plan.  On the other... Read full review »

I have had this phone for about six months now and I can honestly say I love it! Google and HTC has come together with a pretty solid phone.  The first time i touched an HTC phone was with the "Shadow" which was my last phone.  The phone had a wonderful interface with windows mobile but lacked touch screen functionality and a few other things.

The G1 phone from T-Mobile and HTC Corporation is a really interesting phone, but I can say for sure it’s not for everybody.  It’s very good for me, though, and in the not quite two months I’ve owned this device, I have to say I’m glad I chose it over the iPhone and its non-phone cousin, the iPod... A little prologue

I’m a fairly astute observer of technology, not an enthusiast, but I keep an eye out for products that can make my day-to-day life easier, more productive, and enjoyable. So having been tethered to a cell-phone for the last 3 years that both served me well (to a point) and... Read full review »

Intro and hardware:

For T-mobile users in the US we hardly get a great exclusive phone.  Sure there's the Sidekick and the Wing but they don't match the level of the iPhone or Instinct.  Luckily that has changed recently with the introduction of the T-mobile G1.  The first Google phone that... Read full review »

Me and my husband both needed new cell phones and I shopped around for about 2 weeks. After looking at the specs and reviews on just about every cell phone that's being sold right now we were debating between the G1 and the iPhone. Thank goodness we chose the G1!

This phone is perfect. It... Read full review »

Cons Battery Life is awful at times.

So I updated my Sidekick to this G1 cellphone and I have mixed reviews.  When I first purchased the phone, the battery life WAS AWFUL.  On a full battery after the second call, the battery would be dead.  Horrible.  However, i took it back to the store, they changed the battery and told me to...
