"At the peak of arcade activity, I fondly recall days of lining my quarters on the Gauntlet machine, grabbing the familiar yellow controller and firing up my dwarf."

Gauntlet was an immediate hit, where four people could team up and dungeon battle to their hearts content.

I have for a long time been a big fan of multiplayer action/adventure games and RPG?s. When a game comes along with a combination of those attributes, I usually jump at the chance to play it. I spent $150 on Secret of Mana and a Multitap and Controller just to play the game with two friends, and it... Read full review »

I first played Gauntlet Legends at the arcade and was blown away by the game. In Gauntlet Legends you can play as 1 of 5 different players Each player has a different strength then the others.
There are over 50 levels in Gauntlet Legends and it is great to play with 4 players. This game... Read full review »

Pros It's Gauntlet, Multi-player, Lots of items to pick-up,Things to kill
Cons Not quite the charm of the old game, Can become very repetitive
Recommended it? No

Gauntlet Legends is overall an enertaining game for a few hours at a time. For those who aren't familiar with the old Atari classic the game basically consists of a number of Dungeons and Dragons type heros which must hack-n-slash their way through numerous mazes. Each hero has a ranged attack as... Read full review »

Gauntlet Legends is a good game to play if you like lots of slaying, and don't mind backtracking through mazes.I enjoyed the game much better when there were multiple players. This makes it go a little easier and faster.I would recommend having a memory card, unless you don't mind playing the game... I picked up this game when I was renting a batch of games for a gaming party I was having that night. As you can imagine, at gaming parties you always want to go with games that support at least two people, and as I had heard good things about this game, I decided to give it a try.

Oh man have I whined for the past 3 years for a worthy hack and slash adventure. The only game that came reasonably close was Brave Fencer Musashi and I HATE that game. I remember playing the old school version of Gauntlet both on the arcade and my 8-bit nes, I remembered the complex puzzles and swarms of enemies that I went through, and i found the game to be one of a kind since it was the first to feature 4 players on one screen. Now in the year 2000 do i get to... Read full review »

Pros smooth graphics, even in 4-player mode
Cons game is just too damn hard sometimes

Gauntlet Legends makes a hell of a better home game than it does an arcade game, especially when, at home, you don't have your life meter trickling down every second for no apparent reason, no matter what you do. The graphics are awesome and there's little to no slowdown, even when there are four... Read full review »

There are very few role-play games on consoles that give a multiplayer experience. Midways attempt to port the hit Gauntlet Legends from the arcade to various platforms have been somewhat of a mediocre effort. With the PlayStation version lacking full multiplayer support (thanks to the console) and... Read full review »

Oh yeah this game kicks @$$!! This game is great with friends or without. With plenty of characters to choose from, and a good supply of levels, this game will keep you going for quite sometime. If you loved the arcade game or you just love hack n' slash games in general, I recommend that you give this game a look. If you are any other type of person, take heed before approaching this game.

What else is there to say. This game ROCKS! I grew up playing the old gauntlet arcade game and this one did not let me down. Honestly, when I bought this game, I was expecting to be astounded by a perfect conversion of one of my most favorite arcade games. The average review for this game has been split. People either think it's one of the best games to come out for the Dreamcast, or at least highly recommended, or think its utter garbage. After going out and trying Gauntlet Legends, I'm split in how to rate it.

I do have to make several... Read full review »

Gauntlet Legends

Sumner, a benevolent mage, has crafted a number of great towers to celebrate his prowess in the art of magic. Within these towers are portals to the different Gauntlet realms. Sumner's vile brother, Garm, using the portals for his own selfish purposes, has accidentally released the powerful demon lord Skorne. And now Skorne, along with his army of undead warriors, is planning to wreak havoc in the mortal world. Sumner needs you and the other heroes of the Gauntlet Legends to fight the undead warriors, weaken Skorne's power, and help send Skorne back to the dark netherworld where he belongs. Gauntlet Legends still hosts the original Gauntlet characters-- Warrior, Valkyrie, Archer, and Wizard--as well as new costars Minotaur, Tigress, Jackal, and Falconess. You'll slash and gobble through seven different kingdoms that contain all-new enemies, traps, rune stones, and power-ups.
