Pros Easy to use GPS
Cons The worst audio of any frs radio on the market
Recommended it? No

What a great idea, an FRS radio and GPS in one small package. The GPS has a small screen but the zoom makes up for that. Garmin has done a great job making the GPS as simple to use as any I have tried. The Rino uses a Click stick (joy stick ) to control most functions. The problem with product is... Read full review »

This is my first GPS, and I have wanted one for some time, but just never got around to getting one.

When I was looking originally I figured, what the heck this may kill two birds with one stone, so I decided that I'd give it a go.

Well I'm glad I did and am I ever impressed. I... Read full review »

Pros Know exactly where you hunting buddies are, always have a radio with you, convenient GUI.
Cons Batteries don't last long, radio reception, joystick is tricky.
Recommended it? Yes

I've enjoyed having my Rino 120. It is a great piece of gear. Navigating the features makes sense, it's easy to mark way-points.

One of the best features is the ability to see the location of other people carrying a Rino. My hunting buddy lost his GPS this year, we found it using mine... Read full review »

Excellent GPS and Radio

Pros Size, memory, ability to transmit location between units.
Cons Battery life, color options, and built-in maps.
Recommended it? Yes

This is the best compact radio and GPS unit. Only one of about three available, but I purchased this model due to the 8 MB's of memory for maps and route storage. I've really enjoyed the product, have used it for off-highway vehicle travel and trail documentation on several trips now, and it has... Read full review »

Pros Gps is great, functions are intuitive, radio integration is an awesome concept.
Cons Originals were bad, and had to be exchanged.
Recommended it? Yes

7/2/03 Update: We have received the replacements, and they work great. Though I've only had the chance to check them on flat ground at a range of about 1 mile, the units worked perfectly. The radios worked fine, with one unit having just a touch of static (it could have been interference from... Read full review »

This is the 2nd and 3rd Garmin 120 GPS that I have ordered from CompWest USA. After ordering for my father earlier this year and learning what the Garmin 120 capabilities are I had to order the same for my husband and brother for xmas. CompWest USA worked extremely hard to impress their customers... Read full review »

Pros Loads of features, compact size, PC upgradeable maps, peer-to-peer positioning, battery...
Cons Clumsy radio features, bulky 3rd battery location

I decided to purchase the Rino 120 for several uses. For hunting, camping, hiking, snowmachining, flying, snowboarding and tactics for my favorite hobby of airsoft.

The applications are almost limitless and the deal is almost unreal. Lots of power in the palm of your hand.

Cons as radios... horrible really need to work that aspect out. disappointing.

So far I love the GPS and peer to peer aspects of the garmin 120, if only the radio actually worked. the quality is absolutely atrocious, I have contacted them in this regard, I even compared them to the motorola talk abouts, and the difference is night and day, I hope to get this resolved with... Pros Contains everything a person needs, Radio, GPS and topo's. Very accurate GPS.
Cons Can not trust provided belt clip.
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased two Rinos for Hunter Education class presentations. Spent time in dense forest evaluating the RINO features. Found units to work as advertised. I down loaded the area topo's for eastern Arizona. GPS units performed very well in timber. Units successfully guided us to within 10 feet of a... Read full review »
