GE Makes Cheap Pieces of Garbage? Not!

Pros Great Efficient Long Lasting Dynamo
Cons Brad Pitt is not using it nude in my kitchen
Recommended it? Yes

To tell you the truth, I think I was prejudiced against General Electric products. For some reason, I always thought they were the low-end models to buy. I must admit at this point that I should be flogged, stoned and sent to microwave penitentiary. These things rock.

I had a GE Microwave... Read full review »

Pros Fits the space we wanted to use
Cons Noisier than our previous one
Recommended it? Yes

Our last GE Spacemaker II lasted 17 years and we wanted one just like it for space reasons. Were we ever delighted when we found the GE JEM25! The dimensions were just about the same. Just unpacked it from the box and slotted it in the old space. So far, it is working just fine and we have high... Read full review »

you'd be an idiot to buy this microwave

Pros its small
Cons Guaranteed to break again and again !
Recommended it? No

Add my name to the list of the duped. GE continues to manufacture an extremely unreliable microwave oven with the intention of drawing a neverending stream of repair and service call revenue to deal with their junky products. The spacemaker will last anywhere from a few minutes to maybe 6 months if... Read full review »

Two duds and no Customer satisfaction!

Pros Great features when they work.....
Cons I'd rather have a bookshelf!
Recommended it? No

Ten years ago we bought a GE Spacemaker MW for our new house. It died after 6 years. We thought this was a rather short life for a microwave but dismissed it as a fluke and bought another. To our surprise, we didn't have a lot of replacement choices. In fact, we had no choice but to replace it with... Read full review »

GE JEM31BF001 is a noisy dud.

Pros Space saver design.
Cons Noise and tinny construction.
Recommended it? No

I purchased this microwave approximately 1 month ago. I would NOT recommend it. The back metal plate vibrates when the unit is turned on, and it is ridiculously noisy. Very aggravating! I owned an older model GE space saver prior to this and was very happy with it for many years. The new model is... Read full review »

Pros size, easy to use controls
Cons Noisy, poor quality, second identical model to stop working after a few months
Recommended it? No

This microwave was a warranty replacement for the first one (reviewed, April '06). The first one lasted about 6 months, this one has lasted 10 months. It begins to to cycle on, then stops after 1 to 20 seconds producing either a blank display, error symbols, or PF (power failure). Sometimes the... Read full review »

Specifically made to hang under counters

byjkash Aug 30, 2004

Pros Great to hang under a counter
Cons More expensive than similar ovens that do no hang under a counter
Recommended it? Yes

This is a solidly made microwave, and it is explicitly made to hang under a counter or inside one. It is much less deep than most countertop models - under 13inches. So if you have a lot of clearance between your countertop and cabinets (the "standard" is 18 inches, but I have 24 inches in my... Read full review »

Pros Installs up and off the counter
Cons apparently unsafe operation
Recommended it? No

I bought and installed my new JEM31 yesterday and installed it, and tonight cooked two small potatoes according to the instructions and using the "potato" button which has the sensor feature. In a few moments it started making an odd noise and when I looked around the potatoes were on fire inside... Read full review »
