Fisher Paykel not as Good as it should be
This is our second Fisher Paykel in 7 years they say our new one only has a 1 year warranty.
Not at all reliable.

Horrible product horrible service -was good for 3 years
We bought this washer after a lot of research as we had saved up to replace our old trusty maytag washer.
It worked good for 3 years but then leaks developed, causing the control board to go, then the diverter valve and another board then the pump.
now it stops during the wash cycle...

Will never buy another brand after this one.
We have owned our Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart GWL11 since June 24, 2006. While visiting our local appliance store to purchase a dryer, they had a Fisher & Paykel on display with a clear front so one could see the inner workings. We were very impressed. When our 18... Read full review »
Very Disappointed
I bought the Fisher and Paykel washer (GWL 11) and dryer in 2006 because of its benefits to ecology. Last year the lid of the washer formed a crack from the bottom of the button panel to the middle. It now has eight cracks vertically; some which go through to the inside. I thought that perhaps... Read full review »
You work too hard to waste your money on this brand
Do Not buy this brand. The quality, reliability and usability is so poor, words can't describe it. Inconsistent water temperture, can't change the water temp, inability to modify the water level, dirty clothes, and a sonic jet engine running at full throtal in the basement. We are trying to find... Read full review »
Love my FP eco
My Fisher and Paykel ecosmart has been in ou family running on our solar system for a year now. It broke a couple weeks ago but it was not a big deal once I learned FP has no service in New mexico I went online and bought the part and it will be here today so I can fix my washer. And I can fix it... Read full review »
An anomaly among top loaders
About five years ago, my friend’s parents decided to replace their 20 year old laundry pair after the dryer needed some major repairs. They wanted to increase efficiency without spending big bucks on a front loader; they also liked the convenience of a top loader. They make all their purchases... Read full review »
Miserable Product and customer service
Need I say more. Very unhappy with the quality. 4 years and I had to replace a bad motor caused by a defect with the water feed but you wouldn't know the feed was defective until you took apart the machine. Received a defective pump motor and after 2 months the pump quit. Customer service will not... Read full review »
wow! all I can say is WOW!
bought the washer & dryer two weeks ago and am flabbergasted by how good they are. The washer is amazingly cost efficient & quiet! Spins the clothes until they are almost dry! actual unit takes up Smaller space size overall, but capacity remains the same as larger washers.
The dryer...

I'm having it carted away after four years
I have owned this product (the Fisher and Paykel GWL11) for four years, and actually sort of liked it for all but the last five months. However, 3 months ago, the lid-locking mechanism failed, a $195 dollar repair. Not that I care about this, but it would not spin for my own protection. Then,... Read full review »
DO NOT BUY FISHER AND PAYKEL PRODUCTS!
We have a F & P Ecosmart washing machine. It broke down after a year and a half. The drum went bad. Okay, these things happen...sometimes. But, F & P are very unreliable and untrustworthy in getting it fixed. It is still under warranty and we are going on a month to get it fixed, and yet it is... Read full review »
I have owned the Fisher & Paykel GWL11 for 5 years
I read all the reviews about this washer before buying it 5 years ago, so expected the very best. I found it is noisy, does an average job of washing, and does save on water. Now we are having problems with it not draining completely, so water stays in the bottom after washing and starts smelling... Read full review »
Reliability Issues
There's a reason this model was discontinued, and I'm willing to bet that reliability is that reason. Commonly blows the "motor control module", and that's not cheap, even if you replace it yourself.
Initial problems with not clearing all water out of the tub. I mean, the tub itself was...

Nice at first, but doesn't last.
We had this washer for 4 years with no problems until it started quitting in mid-wash. For a few months we put up with that and then it died with the customary burnt electronics smell. We paid about $550 and based on other reviews the repairs will be about $300 with a long delay. I don't think I'll... Read full review »
3 years, 3 repairs
I like the washer ... we do a lot of laundry. But the repair history on this has been terrible. Purchased in Oct. 2005, by July 2008 we've had our third out-of-service period. Now that the machine is out of warranty, it seems that the company is not quite as willing to take care of us as they have... Read full review »
5 years and its dead
I have loved the machine for almost 5 years. It suddenly died. No juice. I paid $90 to have it diagnosed, and found the control module is dead. That part is almost $200, and installation is another $160. So with that, I'd be into it for $450, which is 2/3 the cost of a new machine to keep my 5 year... Read full review »
Horrible Reliability, Constant Repair Black Hole $$$ Great idea, terrible engineering
We bought the washer in 2003 being immediately drawn to the "green" aspects of the washer and the brushless motor (I'm a closet "environmental Green Peacer" electrical engineering geek). At that time, a one year warranty was all that was offered. Within 18 months the stream of breakdowns began to... Read full review »
Maintenance Nightmare
I bought this machine a hair over two years ago, two years and two months, thinking a water and energy saving machine would be great, and for a year it was, I loved it and told all my friends who happened to see it. The only drawback was a jet engine noise when spinning, due to the high speed, but... Read full review »
Mine lasted 5 years.
My Fisher-Paykel GW11 top load washer just died, after only 4.5 years of use.
The pump drain and valve failed, causing a slow leak that eventually shorted out the control board. Replacing these parts would have cost close to $300, and labor was estimated at about $175. Putting $475 into a...

Forget this brand
I have owned my Fisher Paykel Washing Machine for 3 years. It has had 2 repairs. The first was to replace the Electronic Control board - this was very expensive, and the second was to repair the diverter valve. Apparently this is a common repair for these machines. Once I saw the broken valve I... Read full review »
