Don't Buy This Dishwasher

byhegoatis Oct 13, 2006

Pros It looks nice
Cons It doesn't work - EVER It's a Fisher Paykel
Recommended it? No

Don't buy this dishwasher! It does a lousy job when it's working - and it's never working! It looks like a good idea and it is. However, the Kiwi's who make this product don't know the first thing about quality. The service tech has a lot to say about the dishwasher - suffice it to say they keep... Read full review »

Double Trouble

Pros Looks nice in the kitchen when new.
Cons Shonky electronics that are inadequately shielded. Poor service, and poor parts...

Nice idea. Appalling implementation. The thing is a lemon. Sliding drawers sound fine, except that this means the drain hose, the inlet hose and associated wiring have to move back and forth as well. The drain hose in particular, made from cheap plastic, doesn't like the idea, so cracks and sprays... Read full review »

High cost and high maintenance - yes!

Pros When it's working the dish drawer does a great job
Cons It's never working.
Recommended it? No

I have two Dish Drawers and in the past four years I've had to have professional repair service more times than for all the other appliances I've ever owned. The motors fail, the switches that detect when the drawer is closed fail repeatedly (so the machine won't run because it thinks the drawer is... Read full review »

DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER! I warned you...

Pros A very attractive machine
Cons It breaks down monthly, seriously monthly
Recommended it? No

Besides being a very attractive and trendy dishwasher it is by far the biggest pile of excrement I have ever purchased. Read the other reviews about this dishwasher. If you get one piece of food in the drain it just stops working. I have had this happen 8-12 times in two years and have had the... Read full review »

A Big Disappointment

Pros Nice idea
Cons Poor washing capability, poorly designed racks, breaks down often
Recommended it? No

I bought this for my brand new kitchen and immediately I had problems with the dishwasher. It hasn't been a year yet and it has been serviced twice!!! Now that it is "fixed" it still sucks. I thought a dishwasher was supposed to wash dishes, instead I am finding myself washing the dishes after its... Read full review »

Double Draw-Double Downer

Pros Cool design, 2 draws make sense.
Cons Constantly breaking down, expensive to fix.
Recommended it? No

The Fisher Paykel Double Draw Built-in dishwasher has caused us nothing but problems since we installed it. We spent at least $600 dollars repairing the machine over the past 2 years, while having it completely replaced by a new machine that has also been in constant disrepair. The microprocessors... Pros When working does an excellent job.
Cons Dreadful customer service (from F&P and Huby) and a poorly qualified service team (Huby).
Recommended it? No

After only a few months of operating we found dishes were not drying. Called service department (Huby Domestic for those in the North East of England) and described problem. Technician arrived and told me (before looking at the problem) "it's probably the motor if the drains not blocked". Sure... Read full review »

Very Disappointing

Pros quiet
Cons expensive, must pre-wash dishes, must constantly clean filtering system, not reliable, no...
Recommended it? No

We carefully chose all our appliances when we remodeled our kitchen and decided to pay extra to purchase a pair of (very) expensive Fisher Paykel dish drawers instead of the equally quiet Bosch dishwasher. The F-Ps are very quiet, but that is the only good thing I can say about them. We've had them... Read full review »

Don't buy this terrible FisherPaykel dishwasher

Pros looks great, drawers are easy to load and unload.
Cons flimsy, brackets failed, stuck doors, leaks, ruined wiring, a total loss after three...
Recommended it? No

I bought 2 of these for my dream kitchen exactly 3 years ago. and had problems with both from the beginning. Both my units shifted positions, making the doors stick, one leaked causing unfixable damage to "motherboard" & wiring. Fisher Paykel blamed the installer, and the installer said it was a... I've owned this lovely two drawer Fisher Paykel dishwasher for 2-1/2 years. I love it as much as I hate it. It's lovely and it cleans well, and the two drawer option is just so innovative and convenient. The only problem is that it needs a service call every 6 months to keep it running. You see,...
