Leo Lionni is one of my favorite children's authors and when I spotted his book Fish is Fish on a recent trip to the library, I scooped it up and added to the already huge pile of books I was checking out.

Pros Colorful pictures, simple words.

Frogs. Think about them for a second. They get the best of both worlds, in a way. They hatch out of an egg and become tadpoles who swim around and can breathe under water. This isn't in my list of all-time favorite children's books, but it is close.  The book is very enjoyable and sweet.  The illustrations and the simple story compliment each other well.  Children will enjoy hearing the story of the fish and frog who start out together, spend some time...
