A Few Good -- actors in a pretty good court drama
Two United States Marines (Wolfgang Bodison and James Marshall) are arrested on numerous charges, including the murder of a fellow soldier who wanted to be transfered in exchange of information of an incident at their base at Guatanimo Bay, Cuba. "Lt. Daniel Alistair Kaffee" (Tom Cruise), a lawyer... Read full review »
Classic Entertainment
Good story, great execution.
Actors worked well together and Cruise hit his mark on this picture. Maybe still his best acting to date. He's gotten ribbed and robbed, but this will always be a classic film.

The Casablanca of Liberal Courtroom Drama
Believe it or not, I went to see this film - when it first opened - because I was having "open discussions" with Marine Corps JAG. I was in law school, at a time when the bottom had dropped out of the market, and I was frankly willing to turn over any stone that had a dollar attached to it (a skill... Read full review »
'''''''' A FEW GOOD MEN ''''''''' - Can YOU Handle The Truth?
When it comes to taut and enthralling courtroom dramas, very few movies manage to intrigue us like no other, To Kill and Mockingbird is one, 12 Angry Men is another, I am happy to say the A Few Good Men is good enough to be among the elite of courtroom thrillers, an instant classic boasting a great... "So this is what a courtroom looks like."
Following the traditions of The Caine Mutiny and other riveting courtroom dramas (To Kill a Mockingbird, Anatomy of a Murder), the Aaron Sorkin-Rob Reiner collaboration A Few Good Men is less about a crime and its details than it is about a clash of wills between two men with different mindsets and... You don't need a patch on your arm to have honor.
For a very large part of my very short life I've been a bit mystified by the idea of this movie. I'd heard incredible reviews, and I could spot out the famous court scene with Jack Nicholson screaming "You can't handle the truth" with ease. The fact of the matter was, I didn't know anything about... Read full review »
You Can't Handle the Truth!....Quote Makes the Movie W/O.
You can't handle the truth!
--Jack Nicholson as Colonel Nathan Jessup, from 1992's A Few Good Men.
On any list of the most memorable movie quotes of the last 25 years, probably of all time, this one makes the cut. You may not have seen the film, but you've definitely heard the...

A Few Good Men: #1 Military Flick
Starring Tom Cruise (Lt. Kaffe), Demi Moore (Lt. Cmdr Galloway), Jack Nicholson (Col. Jessup), Kevin Bacon (Capt. Ross), and Keifer Sutherland (Lt. Kendrick), this is the best military movie I've ever seen.
The plot centers around the death of Pfc. William Santiago, who was gagged by two...

Marine Corps/Military write-off entry: The Marines need A Few Good Men
At the beginning of A FEW GOOD MEN, we see a certain Private First Class Santiago get assaulted at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, and a rag gets stuffed in his mouth, by the Marine equivalent of two "junior lieutenants" (actually a Private First Class like Santiago, and a Lance Corporal). Said underlings... Read full review »
A Few Good Men: On DVD, Spring for the Special Edition
Being the huge Kiefer Sutherland fan that I am (and this is long before 24 was ever on the air), the movie A Few Good Men has always been among my favorites.
Imagine my disappointment at the poor quality of this DVD. There was no widescreen format, so many scenes were shown with...

A Few Good Men, A Few Good Actors
A marine is dead. People want answers; they want the truth, but can we handle the truth?
A Few Good Men begins as a simple legal drama. Two marines in Guantamo Bay Cuba (Gitmo) enter the barracks room of an under-par marine, Private Santiago. In an attempt to discipline him for violating...

A Few Good Men: And they Can Act!
We all have actors and actresses which others really enjoy and who just don't do it for us. My list of actors and actreses include Jack Nicholson, Keifer Sutherland, Demi Moore and J.T. Walsh. Thus, when the chance came to see "A Few Good Men" in the theaters in 1992, I passed. I think Rob Reiner... Read full review »
A SEAWORTHY CRUISE (he/she should have won an Oscar w/o)
Oh boy! When I signed up to participate in this write-off, I never dreamed it would be this tough! Maybe the hardest part is because I don?t really have a ?favorite actor?. There are some I favor more than others and some I like the least, but there is no real favorite. Even watching some of my... Read full review »
Code Reds & The Truth: A Few Good Men
I hadn't watched this film in quite a while, but sat up last night watching it again for some reason. I wanted to do a review of "Andy Warhol's Dracula", with all it's talk of "wirgins" but, alas, that film is not in the Epinions database. Perhaps I'll be able to convince the powers that be to add... You want the truth? : Movie Review for A Few Good Men
Two marines are seen going into the cabin of one Private First Class William T. (Willie) Santiago. The first marine is Lance Corporal Harold W. A Few Good Fruitflies
When Aaron Sorkin sat down to write his screenplay, A Few Good Men, he must have thought to himself, "Gee, I'm pretty sure my target audience is a bunch of bumbling idiots prone to drooling in their artificially butter-flavored popcorn, so I'd better make this movie's plot so blatantly obvious that... "And the Hits Just Keep On Coming"
A Few Good Men is probably remembered most for the legendary line spoken by Jack Nicholson in all of the commercials, ?You can?t handle the Truth!?
Although it was released in 1992 on video I didn?t see it until this past summer. I don?t know why I hadn?t seen it, I guess it never really...

The original JAG
I'm not even sure if the two lawyers in this film are part of the Judge Advocate General but it shares the same court room drama and excitement with the television show JAG that has a similar theme.
For fans of the television series JAG, you will enjoy this. This is a long the same lines...

Good writing, lame cast.
A Few Good Men got its start as a stage play... and it's obvious. There are a few exterior shots and some judicious cutting back and forth from location to location, but for the most part the characters stay in one place for a while. It's also very verbal, rather than visual. All the conflict, all... Read full review »

A Few Good Men (Special Edition) [VHS]
A U.S. soldier is dead, and military lawyers Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee and Lieutenant Commander JoAnne Galloway want to know who killed him. You want the truth? snaps Colonel Jessup (Jack Nicholson). You can't handle the truth! Astonishingly, Jack Nicholson's legendary performance as a military tough guy in A Few Good Men really amounts to a glorified cameo: he's only in a few scenes. But they're killer scenes, and the film has much more to offer. Tom Cruise (Kaffee) shines as a lazy lawyer who rises to the occasion, and Demi Moore (Galloway) gives a command performance. Kevin Bacon, Kiefer Sutherland, J.T. Walsh, and Cuba Gooding Jr. (of Jerry Maguire fame) round out the superb cast. Director Rob Reiner poses important questions about the rights of the powerful and the responsibilities of those just following orders in this classic courtroom drama.
