Boils water fast, leaks after six months

Overpriced for the quality.
I am fond of electric kettles. They offer the convenience of having hot water in much shorter time than a conventional range top water kettle. Worked fine for a short while
Buy it only if you plan on replacing it in under a year.
Worked just fine for about six months then started leaving puddles on the counter. Turns out it was leaking from the bottom. I contacted Krups but without a receipt they were less than helpful.
My advise, look elsewhere!

Switch Broke On Mine Too. Faulty Switch Is No Coincidence.
It worked fine for 4 months and then one day the switch just up and died. This is outrageous considering I paid over seventy dollars for it at Linens & Things! Worked great for a year
We used this kettle every day. It was fast and easy to use. We also liked the plastic exterior because it did not get very hot to the touch, so no risk of burning yourself. After about 14 months of use, the on/off switch started to go bad. We have to push the switch numerous times to get it to stay... Read full review »
What a shame.....
We purchased one in brushed stainless steel with a black handle. Great looking kettle. Sleek design, well balanced and very modern looking. Loved it when it worked, but that did not last
Bought the black version in about 10/08. It worked until Xmas day 08, when it stopped turning on. I had noticed a slight leak just before it stopped working. Great kettle, but did not last
We have loved our Krups Kettle. It heats quickly, even a full pot in less than 2 minutes. The extra boiling never bothered me. I figured it was the pot assuring that ALL the water had reached boiling temp. The noise is not a big problem, either.
