One of the best baby backpacks, but NOT the most costly.

Pros Simplified, yet well thought out. Has everything you need in a baby backpack.
Cons You can't reach the daypack while wearing the backpack.
Recommended it? Yes

Since having my baby 6 1/2 months ago, I've discovered my inner gear geek. So believe me when I tell you I researched the backpack thing thoroughly (as I have the stroller thing - see my other reviews for my thoughts on that subject).

I tried on various models of Kelty backpacks and got a... Read full review »

Pros excellent product for the price
Cons some poorly developed accessories
Recommended it? Yes

Because my wife and I hike and walk a lot, we tried a big tire three wheel baby jogger. Our son hated it, so we tried a backpack. First we had a small, cheap Gerry one that held him until he was about 10 months old. When it came time to upgrade, we searched all over. We first went to REI and found... Read full review »

Pros Lightweight, sturdy, breathable fabric, easy to clean, storage pack and canopy included.
Cons Time consuming to find the perfect adjustment, so you won't want others to use it.
Recommended it? Yes

I enjoyed using a front pack carrier with my son from the time he was born until he became too heavy for it, so I thought a backpack carrier would be a good idea. My hands and arms would be free and my back would be saved of the strain of carrying the baby on my hip. Also, a backpack could go where... Read full review »

Pros Comfortable for baby and parent
Cons Poor quality
Recommended it? No

At first I was very happy with this backpack. It was a baby shower present, and I started using it when my daughter was 6 months old. It was very comfortable for me, my husband, and my daughter, and she frequently took naps in it. However, after only about a month of use, I noticed some of the... Read full review »

Pros Very durable and comfortable to wear for extended amount of times.
Cons I wish I could have used it longer with my children.
Recommended it? Yes

When I was pregnant with our daughter, I was looking for a way to carry her around. She was a tall baby, (11 lbs, 22 in.) so a front carrier only worked for a short amount of time. I began looking into back carriers, and I saw the "Evenflo Trailblazer". Actually, my friend had one, and I had tried... Read full review »

Pros Looks nice
Cons Poor quality in VITAL areas!

I have to say that I am so upset with this backpack. We bought this backpack when my oldest daughter was 18 months old. We only used it on one vacation. We go to Maine and hike on the rocks at Acadia National Park. Needless to say we wanted something sturdy. For our first trip it did fine.

Pros Durable--Comfortable--Easy to use
Cons Can't think of a single one.
Recommended it? Yes

We have had this backpack carrier for 10 years. We have used it extensively, and it has already been through 3 children. We are big hikers, and my 3 year old still uses the backpack as the hikes we go on are just too long for her little legs. We are about to purchase a second one of these backpacks... I am 6-2 -- 230lbs and this pack feels just great starting the second time you use it. Frame is easily adjustable and there are plenty of attachment points for toys and extra gear. With the sternum strap in use the pack is very stable.
Carrier comes with a hood!
I don't find anything to... Read full review »

Pros Didn't kill my daughter
Cons Very dangerous design!
Recommended it? No

Please be advised that this is a horribly designed product. My 11 month old little girl fell out of the bottom of this carrier today.  I had her secured in there properly, but due to the way this carrier is constructed, she shifted down and to the right where her whole body was able to slip...
