Thermostat Problem

bycaptainbin Dec 23, 2007

Pros Looks great.
Cons Don't consider this a long term purchase since it will quickly fail.
Recommended it? No

Without any forewarning the iron got extremely hot and burned a hole through the dress that was being ironed. I question the safety of an iron in which the thermostat doesn't work well. Read full review »

It is indeed a piece of junk

Pros Looks good. Long cord. Heavy weight seems to indicate high-quality.
Cons Stops working. Takes forever to heat up. Ridiculously expensive for what you get.
Recommended it? No

I'm afraid this review won't add anything to the debate. This iron is a piece of junk. I see that mine lasted longer than most -- three years -- before giving up the ghost. But it's been a painful three years.

From Day One, it's been very difficult to fill the iron with water. The filler... Read full review »

Not a good iron.

Pros Pretty.
Cons Stops working. Five months.
Recommended it? No

Apparently we have the same experience as everyone else. Paid extra for what we thought was a nicer iron. Now, after five months, it stopped working. I found a short in the cord and have asked Shark for a replacement cord but am sure it won't be available or will cost as much as the iron. I'm now... Read full review »

Shark Euro Steam Iron

Pros NONE WARRANTED FOR THIS IRON
Cons CHEAPLY MADE CHROME FINISH IS PEELING OFF. DRIPS WATER CONSISTENTLY STAINING CLOTHES.
Recommended it? No

It was with great pleasure that I watched the Shark being compressed by our Garbage Truck today. This piece of garbage has stained its last piece of clothing at our house. I have had to wash more clothing since I purchased this iron due to staining drips than I dare to count. The iron went out... Read full review »

Shark Iron -- auto shut off shuts off all the time

bysgrowney Jul 30, 2007

Pros Looks Great
Cons Doesn't work
Recommended it? No

I wish I had looked at epinions before I bought this iron.

I liked the styling and I have a Shark floor steamer that works great. The auto shut off on the iron kicks in after the documented 7 minutes and no amount of "gently rocking back and forth" will turn it back on. If you unplug/plug... Read full review »

worse iron I ever owned

Pros Powerful steam burst. Best iron I ever owned until it just STOPPED WORKING!
Cons Not reliable. Stops working without any warning.
Recommended it? No

Nice looking, heavy duty iron. Has steam and spray buttons that are easy to access with the touch of the thumb. I purchased my irons from a local Target store. Owned the first Shark iron for about 6 months. Light comes on, but it never worked again. Bought another one. Stopped working after about 3... Read full review »

It only looks good.

Pros Looks great, adjustable steam, great self-cleaning feature.
Cons Didn't work for long, cord hard to place, hard to put water in the iron
Recommended it? No

I wish I had read the other epinions before purchasing this product. It worked well while it lasted but it did not last long. The cord now has a short and the spray button has fallen off. My new rule is to never spend more than $19.99 plus tax for any iron.

I have emailed Shark. Let's see... Read full review »

This irons works great... when it works.

A friend of mine had one of these. I'd used it a few times and was very impressed with the performance so I decided to purchase. Mistake.

I've had two of these irons now. On the first the auto shut off stopped working about two months... Read full review »

Pros Sleek look and smooth feel.
Cons Won't last long... The heating element is GARBAGE
Recommended it? No

I should have read these reviews before buying. My experiences with the SHARK are identical to the other posts...

Bought the SHARK at Target. The box was eye catching, it looked sleek and the features seemed perfect.

Over time, there always seemed to have a collection of brown... Read full review »

Fancy looking outside, shoddy parts inside

byswatson99 Mar 6, 2007

Pros Pretty stainless steel, fancy looking lights
Cons Tips over easily, hard to fill, quits working, doesn't steam well, cheaply made
Recommended it? No

Quite literally the only thing this iron has going for it is the 'fancy' stainless look and it's long cord. Even that doesn't last. It's sole plate scratches easily and gets a grungy dingy coating on it after a short time using it.

Iron cord wraps around bottom of base which is kind of a... Read full review »
