Great Value and Suction but scares the baby
This vacuum is a great value. It is large and somewhat heavy, but self-propels pretty well. It has a knob that you turn when using the hose so the brush stops rolling and doesn't wear out your carpet. What a great feature! Bye-bye yellow lab fur
I recieved this vacuum as a gift and couldn't be more pleased. It has a very powerful suction which has been able to suck up dog fur that my old upright had been unable to get and has been on my area rugs for months. Bought on sale at Kohl's. Overall, an excellent vacuum. Easy to assemble, cuts a wide swath, lots of suction, very quiet, on-board storage for all parts, picks up pet hair easily, basically self-propelled in forward mode, a bit heavy in backwards mode, not really suited for stair use. Sweet Piece of Machinery
We had to break down and get a new vacuum. Our old Hoover wasn't picking up the dog hair and it was getting a bit too hairy for our taste. worst vacuum ever
I bought this and had to return it. If the suction was high enough to work, the bristles wouldn't turn. Now I don't know what to buy because this model keeps coming up as the best. No Way! Read full review »
Problems
I liked this vacuum for the first few months I had it but after that time it developed one big problem: it no longer had the strength to pull the vacuumed material out of the carpet and send it all the way to the vacuum bag. Worst Vacuum EVER!!
I, too, bought this because of its review in Consumer Reports. They got this one WRONG!
The vacuum is heavy and cheaply made. The hose falls off the hook constantly. The HEPA filter cover falls off while you are vacuuming. The belts get stuck regularly. Sometimes it just stops working...

bosses me around
It's very heavy and awkward; it sucks up my area rugs; it does a lousy job on my hardwood, it's too big to get in corners and around furniture; the cord keeps getting caught in the wheels, around my legs, etc. Vacuuming is a constant struggle between me and "the boss."
