Cheap, noisy and VERY slow. Don't buy.
I bought the C42 because it was cheap, and while the photo quality is great you will go gray waiting for it to print...give it at least 15 minutes for one print! Slow baby with features
This printer prints with average quality. It gave a clear text, and good brightful color using its separated 4 colors ink tech. It is very easy to change the ink tank (not catriage). Good thing it was free
This is the kind of printer that comes free with new computers. This is definitely a bait & switch item. Looks inexpensive going in but the final charges are outrageous. bad choice
The epson c42ux prints text in economy mode in realtively fast speeds, although printing colour slows speeds. On star-up the printer vibrates excessively and is very noisy. Bought Epson Stylus C42UX Printer as a replacement for an Epson Photo Stylus 700 that was having mechanical problems. I am running WIN2K. Was attracted by the Price, $80 less a $30 rebate. Good bang for the buck... at first.
I picked this printer up at a "generic" store for 65$ Cnd... It was a deal, I was very happy with the printer at first, but then it "ran out" of ink... Save your money!!
This printer is the worst piece of equipment I've ever come across. It worked fairly well for about a week, and i have had problems with it ever since. Dont buy
Was looking for a cheap printer for backup work, ie photos that didnt need to look perfect, text copying. This printer is very cheap but photos are way off with wierd patterns, and printing text so that its decent quality is like crossing the Bay Bridge heading east at rush hour. 10 minutes a page... C42UX is BAD!!!
The print quality is fairly good both for black and white and color, and the paper handling is good.
