DCO7 is a excellent vacuum

bydrewasher Dec 23, 2003

Pros EXCELLENT carpet/floor vacuum, Brush/stair tools, hose storage, tool storage.
Cons Its more expensive; yellow model is least expensive, but has essential stair/brush tools.
Recommended it? Yes

I tried it at sears, which also sells the kenmore direct drive unit, which was rated well in CR. Bag vs. bagless was not a issue for me, I needed a vacuum that can clean the floor and carpet without repeatably going over the same spots and "spitting debris" around. I liked the Sears vacuum, it was... Read full review »

Absolutely incredible!! Hands down the best vacuum I've ever tried!

Pros Suction, ease of use, suction, long cord, oh and did I mention suction?
Cons None. Color?? Who cares, it's a vacuum not a piece of art work.
Recommended it? Yes

A vacuum is a house cleaning tool, who would think it would be something to get so excited about?! I had a Kenmore Progressive canister (that I paid $379 on sale) that was wonderful for the last few years but recently started falling apart so it was time to look into a new one. I was planning on... Read full review »

But that's about the worst thing I can say about these machines. Yes, the price is hefty, but that's partially offset by not having to buy bags or filters, and it actually does what I bought it for. This machine handles tile floors to high pile carpet with ease.

Although not lightweight... Read full review »

I have to admit, we have only had our Dyson DC07 Animal for only a few days now, but I am definitely sold on this product!!!! I was getting increasingly frustrated with our 18 month old Hoover Hepa vacuum blowing dust into the room about as fast as it was sucking it up. So, I started reading... Read full review »

Pros Overall performance, versatility, ease of use, no bags or filters to buy.
Cons Price, and a few quirks.
Recommended it? Yes

The self-propelled Eureka that I inherited from my grandparents a dozen years ago seemed to do a good enough job of cleaning up after us and our two cats, but after moving into a two-story house with monotone light beige carpets, we really began to realize its limitations. Weekly vacuuming did not... Read full review »

Pros Lightweight, powerful, attachments, EVERYTHING.
Cons Price. Its purple! Lack of self retracting cord.

I originally didnt want to spend this much on a vac, but geeez, this isnt just a vacuum, its a VACUUM!
After vacuuming with our old cleaner, it still picked up two canisters of dirt and dog hair from our house. The bagless canister is easy and touchless to empty and the hepa filter is... Read full review »

Pros Suction, design, long hose with handle, carpet/floor settings, picks up impossible cat...
Cons Too powerful for short-pile throw rugs, too expensive to have an upstairs and downstairs...

Just got this thing yesterday, so I can't speak to durability, but it is without a doubt the best vacuum cleaner I've owned.

I bought this because my old vacuum cleaner (Hoover) just wasn't doing the job. I also have an Oreck that I use upstairs, and even though it is definitely... Read full review »

I hate vacuuming but, this vacuum makes vacuuming fun. (I know, hard to imagine.) My husband and I were actually fighting over it. It's amazing just how much nasty stuff it sucked up in an area where I had just vacuumed with my Windtunnel. It moves across the carpet so smoothly and easily that it... Read full review »

Ok.. I read all the reviews on here and actually went out and bought this vacuum based solely on the reviews. I have to say, they were spot on. This is a perfect vacuum cleaner. I love the extra long cord. I only have to plug it in two different places to do the entire downstairs, which is a great... Read full review »

Pros Everything about the Dyson is a pro.
Cons Does not clean by itself yet. Hoping for a robot version.

Replaced my $2,000.00 Rainbow System with a $490.00 Dyson. Just sorry I did not hear or read about Dyson before the Rainbow sales people got a hold of me. Would be $2,000.00 richer now, and it would have saved me from a year of muscle aches in my back and shoulders. The Dyson almost cleans without... Read full review »
