Pros Attractive, reliable, powerful, quiet
Cons Expensive, a bit clunky
Recommended it? Yes

Intro- For some reason, it's really hard for me to get really excited about a vacuum. Nevertheless, a good one is something just about everyone needs. But what is a good one? Well, in my opinion, a good vacuum is one that -

* Is bagless (Let's face it - bags are a pain)

* Is... Read full review »

Pros Well thought-out designs, Awesome cleaning power, lightweight, extra long power cord.
Cons I wish I came in pink!!

I used to absolutely hate vacuuming, huffing and puffing and swearing the whole time. Then my old vacuum met "an untimely yet satisfying demise" and I was in search of something more user friendly. I was considering the Westinghouse cordless, but was turned off by all the neg reviews. Then I looked... Read full review »

After reading many positive comments about the Dyson, we bought our Dyson Animal a little over (March of 2003) 2 years ago. We have dogs and lots of carpet, so a vacuum is a vital piece of machinery for us! I was looking for something that would work, be easy to use and not break down.

Pros The suction is terrific. Anyone with a pet should own this machine.
Cons Colors are weird. However, they're the AZ Diamondback colors so I've adjusted.
Recommended it? Yes

Boy, this has got to be the very best vacuum I have ever owned. Obsessa was right....

The only drawback I've found is converting it to the attachments is a bit cumbersome.

I have a Golden Retriever. He sheds massively two times a year and small amounts throughout the year. This... Read full review »

Pros Great suction power, long cord and various vacuum parts for all areas.

My husband I have two labrador retrievers and pet hair gets everywhere! Our old vacuum would only collect some of the hair. Our house did not seem clean enough for us until we bought a Dyson. We needed a vacuum cleaner with tremendous suction power and the Dyson proved to have that and more! Well... Read full review »

Pros Sucks big time. Looks awesome. Conversation piece.
Cons Using the attachments is a little daunting.
Recommended it? Yes

This is a great vacuum. Not only is it a great piece of pop-art, but it can suck up dog hair like no bodies business. We had a Eureka before and it would not even put a dent in the hair our dog left on the carpet.

As for the pop-art aspect, we leave it on display in our living room - that... Read full review »

I never thought my husband and I would argue who gets to vacuum the house, we vacuum twice a week, due to pets. But after my Rainbow was in the shop again for repairs, I needed to get a back up vacuum and I wanted an up-right, for quick clean ups. Only this in not my back up anymore, we use it most... I have owned several expensive vacuums (Rainbow, Majestic Filter Queen, etc) and the Dyson puts all other vacuums to shame. It is durable, easy to use, versatile and and animal on pet hair. I live with 4 dogs and a cat. Our home was a swirling vortex of hair before we got the Dyson.

Worst, Device, Ever -- and here are 10 reasons why

Pros A bagless tank
Cons No light, falls apart, poor suction, annoying parts in the road.
Recommended it? No

Here are 10 reasons Not to get a Dyson vacuum.

1. It doesn't lose suction, but doesn't really have any to
start with.

2. It is built to be cool and come apart in many
pieces/places (and it does -- while you are sweeping).

3. The cord (for some reason) is... Read full review »
