worked great at first, have a kid, dog and a cat-was impressed by the many times I had to empty the thing-but now, it wont pick up lint, hair, string, paper, grass, leaves, -anything-really? attachments are confusing and the thing chases you when you try to use them?

Yuck!
If you are the type of vacuumer that never uses any attachments, but just runs the vacuum over the floor, then this is a fine vacuum.
