I have had this exact model for about 9 months. Cleaning power is the most important thing to me and this is the best vac I have owned.
It is a bit pricey but we purchased ours at Kohls. We used the 15% off coupon and also got a $gift card for each $50 spent. That brought the price down...

Works great on dust, but some types of carpets, its a pain...
This vacuum would be awesome if I were a single gal: always at work and only vacuuming once a week because my floor is never touched, but this is not my life. Mine is peeking jauntily from the Garbage Can

DON'T BUY ! IT OVERHEATS!
I bought a DC07 4 years ago. I use it once a week, so it's definitely not overworked. A few months after the extended guarantee had expired, it started to overheat and cut out. Everything you expected
Pricey yes, but we have one dog and two cats that made exploring the Dyson as a viable option. The difference in models is color, accessories & how they hook up. Suction is the same. If you use the upright only the original will be fine.
