Except for the gas mileage, it's AWESOME!
Last fall, my youngest brother called me to let me know that his 1997 Ford Ranger finally died. It had been a fine truck, and it ran up over 210,000 miles, but it was always a bit snug for "little" brother's 6'4" frame, even though it was a SuperCab.
So I got together with our mother and...

Dodge Did Good With This Durango
After owning older vehicles, I wanted to buy something "brand-new" and something with power, so after doing a years worth of research I went with the Dodge Durango. My family is full of Die-Hard Honda/Acura fans when it comes to cars and the only vehicle we have that is not a Honda/Acura is this... Read full review »
I love my Durango
I am a minivan girl by nature, I have 3 kids, and my husband and I are both larger people. I have always had a minivan...then when our last van died, my husband said he had always wanted a Durango. With not alot of money, and not really wanting one, we found a really pretty tanish Durango.

I LOVE my Durango!!
My husband bought my 2000 Durango for my birthday 3 years ago and it was a dream come true! I had wanted a Durango since the first came out but couldn't afford a new one, we bought ours used for about $17,000 with only 40,000 miles! This has been the best vehicle we have ever owned there is so much... Read full review »
Run from this one!
Since buying my Durango I have had so many problems with it. Ignoring the crummy gas mileage, ride like a rock, and little to no room for storage after putting my 3 kids in the vehicle, the Durango has too many problems to merit buying.
1. Forget about towing. The tow capacity is only...

Looks small, pure muscle. Recommend over Explorer
My folks bought a 2000 Durango SLT used for 19,200 about a year and half ago. It is a beautiful red and it is a very attractive SUV overall.
Engine: SLT comes with a very powerful 5.9L V-8 style engine that has power throughout all RPM ranges. It tows like a rig much bigger than it and...

I bought this car about a year ago used it had 16,000 miles on it. We bought it mostly because of the third seat and all the room it has. It now has 30,000 on it.

Dream Vehicle
Looking for my first car to purchase once I graduated college, I spent hours researching, test driving, and debating over which automobile I wanted to start my new life in. The Durango above all other SUV's on the market caught my eye from the beginning. The sleek body but tough body, looks almost... Read full review »
2000 D For Me!
After researching sport utilities on the internet for over a year, I finally decided to purchase the 2000 Durango on an end of the year clearance.
I have currently owned the vehicle for 3 years now and I must say that I haven't had a single problem. My durango has 56,000 miles and I haven't...

Gasket malfunction
I love my 2000 Durango, but in less than two years we had an issue with a gasket that caused the engine to seize. We had to replace the engine at a cost over $4,000. Long story, but there is something wrong as I have found others who have had this same issue with this make, model and year. Dodge... Read full review »
Durango - a mixed blessing
We bought a 2000 Durango in 2001. I like it overall, nice looks, nice drive. However, there are several things bad about it which is why I wouldnt buy it again,
Price - WAY over priced, you'd be lucky to get one in the low 20s. Yeah its a 4X4 but you dont get much else, just a standard...

Buy It!!!
After my Mom got into an accident that totaled 1996 Ford Explorer, my parents decided they wanted more room. It was a weird coincidence that the courtesy car they gave us was a 2000 Dodge Durango R/T with a 5.9L V8. It is extremely pleasing on the eye and was kind of scary to drive at first due to... Nice face shame about the legs
Let me start by saying this is a pretty decent vehicle let down by a couple of areas. Would I still consider if in the market again - yes...but well worth knowing some 'living with it facts' !
I bought the car used with 20k miles. Price was good.
My wife wanted a 7 seater so that on...

Warranty Distress
I really loved my Durango until I went over the magic 36,000 mile mark in which the warranty expired. At this point, things started going terribly wrong. I was stranded on the interstate during rush hour by a engine computer malfunction that cost approx $400 to replace - not to mention towing, etc... Read full review »
This Truck Just Doesn't Stop
Durango, Faulty ABS, Bad Brakes. Accident-prone.
I have never caused an accident in over 20 years until I owned a Durango. I?ve owned/driven dozens of other SUV?s and cars and have never experienced brakes as soft as those on the Durango. I?ve also driven Class ?C? type vehicles that all...

The man's hot rod and the woman's minivan.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE-
I have never owned a brand new car. Neither has my husband. We always had used cars, because a young couple just can't afford one of those expensive new luxury cars. You'll really laugh at this ok. My husband was driving by a Toyota dealership one day on his way home...

Great vehicle, but it has its costs
I had a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee and wanted a little bigger and more power. I had looked at Expeditions, but they were a little out of range. I started looking at the Durangos when Chrysler started its financing incentives on the 2000 models. I purchased the vehicle at the end of November, 2000... Read full review »

The Durango is GREAT!
We leased our 2000 Dodge Durango in November 1999 and promptly fell in love with this vehicle. Our previous vehicle was a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan, which our family adored. We definitely wanted another Dodge because we had survived a horrible accident. In 1996, our new 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan was... Read full review »
Durango is good
For the price, seating, accessories, and how well it runs, I would have to say that this is the best deal for a Sport Utility Vehicle. You can seat eight people in this SUV, which is great for a more compact SUV. Also you can pick one of these up for $40,000 dollars which for a sport util. is a... Read full review »
