"10 bucks a month for radio service?! Who would in their right mind pay for something I can get for free or listen to CDs for my music. 10 bucks a month, yeah right."

I said this to myself when I heard of XM radio, and was telling myself this until last month.

My first exposure... Read full review »

Pros Portability from car to home to work. A blessing compared to regular radio.
Cons Car kit is primitive. XM is for mass market. Don't expect to like every station.
Recommended it? Yes

Living in Southern California, I'm faced with a pretty long commute - a minimum of 2 hours a day on the road going to and from work.

I've been extremely dissatisfied with FM, and there's only so much I can take of AM after the news, traffic reports and a little talk radio here and there... Read full review »

Pros One the least expensive XM radios you can buy.
Cons Have to put up with reflective screen in well-lit settings.

I purchased the Delphi SkyFi radio about 8 months ago. I drive a whole lot, so the SkyFi is great to have whenever I drive through areas that have little or no regular radio service. No matter where I drive, the SkyFi picks up the signal.

The sound from the SkyFi is wonderful and there... Read full review »

WOW WOW WOW! I have had this for about a month now and have yet to unplug myself from it.
I commute aprox. 2hrs to NYC everyday and rely on my radio to get my mind off the road. Of late though I have been noticing 10-15 min commercial breaks thus forcing me to do the channel surfing thing only... Read full review »

First, an overview...

XM Satellite Radio provides over 100 channels of music, news and talk from a pair of satellites. Channels run from classical to broadway to Latin to pop to news to talk to... You get the idea. XM is a subscription-based service costing $9.99/month. Each radio you own... Read full review »

I got XM last summer. My commute is about an hour through a rural area, which doesn't get much AM/FM radio reception. Since getting XM, I haven't listened to FM at all! It is great. I have a Delphi receiver, which has been 98% reliable...twice heavy rain has interrupted service for a day or so -... Read full review »

I've installed, tested, & used almost all Sirius & XM satellite "dockable" units, including the SkyFi3 unit. I previously owned the SkyFi3's competition, the Pioneer Inno.

Having installed & used the SkyFi3 on several occassions gave me an oppotunity to provide enough information here for... Read full review »

Pros It's portable - use in-home and in car - same unit with additional add-ons.
Cons Every piece sold separately - figure out what you need before buying.

We bought our XM SkyFi and within 48 hours, we went out and bought a second one for our other car! I never would have imagined that I would actually PAY for radio - but it's worth the money. The XM channel selection has something for everyone and if you go to their website, they have all different... Read full review »

Cons Spend more time re-booting than listening

I'm 50+ and have never in my life time, bought such a worthless piece of unreliable, poorly designed or manufactured junk. I like and use XM radio and own two other recievers in my house and another car. I bought this with the inticement of a 3 year contract at a reduced rate. The Skyfi with car... Read full review »

The $100 centerpiece of $20,000 stereo?

Pros Unlimited 24 hour entertainment
Cons This sounds great for $100? I want a $1500 one!
Recommended it? Yes

While not honestly CD quality unless your CD player is $100 (mine is $3500 just the player). Nevertheless the quality of sound is very dynamic and clear. And the entertainment is due to good DJs cooking up interesting mixes that make sense, non-stop, 24-hours a day.

And the entertainment... Read full review »
