Pros rotating basket, temperature control, thermostat light, easy drain system
Cons none at all
Recommended it? Yes

The deep fryer I had was already hitting its 10 birthday. Yes it still worked, but it looked like it was 10 years old. I felt I was ready for a new one.

With so many on the market, I wanted one that would make my life easier – but did such a deep fryer even exist? After looking around for... Read full review »

Pros Cooks evenly, safe to use and less messy than the conventional "fryer".
Cons Fogged up view window and possible steam burns.
Recommended it? Yes

Okay...so no biggie...but it is fun to make a batch of fresh tortilla chips now. In fact....deep frying anything is a piece of cake. Donuts, burritos, chicken, french fries and more....we have cooked them all in the Delonghi Deep Fryer.

The model I have is slightly different than this one... Read full review »

Pros Safety of product paramount for parents.
Cons Watch escape steam on opening.
Recommended it? Yes

After a particularly nasty kitchen fire, caused by someone dropping a basket of wet chips into the hot oil rather rapidly, (yes, that would be me), it was decided that a fryer with a lid and definitely a plug in, was to be placed on the shopping list.

Now I don't eat fried food. I much... Read full review »

After a fire in our home...

Pros Less oil, less mess, safer
Cons can't find any
Recommended it? Yes

We had a fire in our home 6 years ago because my husband left a pan of grease on the stove and went out. We lost nearly everything. A grease fire is devistating even if it doesn't leave the kitchen because it smokes for a long time before igniting.

When we bought our new house, on of our... Read full review »

I admit it, we love fried foods. No matter how much we tell ourselves to eat more healthily, my fiancee and I keep coming back to fried foods. Recently we saw an episode of one of our favorite cooking shows, "Good Eats," that was all about frying. In it, the host, Alton Brown,... Read full review »

Normally, I am on a fried food ban...I hate feeling sluggish and unhealthy, but after trying french fries at one of my friends home with the DeLonghi Cool Touch Roto Deep Fryer, I decided to buy one of my own! My kids love fried food, but I do everything I can to keep it out of my home.

Diminutive DeLonghi Gets it Right

Pros Easy to operate small-family fryer that requires a trick, but then is successful.
Cons Small size not for parties or feeding the neighborhood.
Recommended it? Yes

Like many, I have avoided frying because of the mess and smell--though I am fortunate that larger love-handles don't seem to happen to me.  Fried chicken, fritters, appetizers, and gourmet additions to dinner plates are all fun.  But I avoided the trouble, even partially out of fear of setting the... Pros Rotates food, cleans up easily, easy to use
Cons none so far

This is a good kitchen tool. I'm glad I bought it but I must admit I'm just learning what to cook and not cook in it. Being vegetarian I really wanted to make deep fried tofu but learned you need to use the kind that's extra firm or you need to dry it out well before hand to get it to be crispy... Much better than stovetop frying

Pros Spatter free, almost odorless frying.
Cons Minimal instructions.  Relatively high filter cost.

If you find yourself deep frying even occasionally, the DeLonghi D895UX is a good alternative to hot oil on a stovetop.  Actually, it's one of the better residential deep fryers.  Years ago, I had a Fry Daddy unit, which was basically just a small electrically heated pot, and it put me off these... Mom, is the chicken ready yet?

Pros Easy cleaning, odor free, uses less oil than other fryers.
Cons Too small for large families, can only cook small portions
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased the DeLonghi Rotating Deep Fryer F-895 after reading the excellent reviews in magazines and on line and liked the fact that you didn't have to use as much oil as the traditional fryers. I don?t tolerate reheated oil very well so I only use the oil 2/3 times before dumping. There is NO... Read full review »
