Power In Your Pocket
This is not going to be an in-depth, technical review of the Dell Axim X5, but rather my impressions as a user of this interesting device.
I migrated to the Axim by way of a Palm IIIxe and then a Compaq Ipaq. I found the Palm to be extremely useful, but limited do to its lack of...

Poor man's Pocket PC - (update) Don't buy it!
As my work and social schedule began to fill up, I realized that I could no longer keep track of my appointments via a paper calendar. After hitting up my either broke or cheap employer for a PDA-type device and being told "No, we won't buy one!", I decided to strike out and buy one on my own... Read full review »
Great entry in the PocketPC market!
I don't have a lot to compare this with, because I moved from a Handspring Visor Edge to a full-color PocketPC2002 unit. So, the difference is extraordinary.
Ordering and Customer Service: Apparently, when I ordered this, Dell wasn't able to handle the amount of orders they were...

Its is a big PDA with a short life span.
I bought one of these in 2003. I have been using it moderately over the course of the last two years. Currently, the interface between the stylus and the screen is starting to go. I predict the PDA will give up in about six more monthes.
When I purchased this PDA, I was only interested in...

Don't buy it!
I don't know how could anybody rate the Axim buyable? Do you actually own one when you write it? I believed it and bought it. I've received it a few weeks ago. I regret buying it. The right button of the navigation button just won't work.
Bad thing is that you have to buy it directly from...

Not very useful unless you're a real traveler
I bought this pocket pc hoping that I could use it remotely check my email and browse simple web pages. After all it says it comes with Pocket Explorer and has a 400 mhz processor. That should be plenty! Well unfortunately it isn't. Browsing the web on this thing is painfully slow. Never mind the... Read full review »
What a deal!!
I cannot say enough about my Dell. I've had it for 3 weeks now and have found nothing wrong with it. From the start I was pleased, Dell told me that it would be 10 days for delivery so you can imagine my surprise when it showed up in 4 days. I guess the problem everyone else was having was because... Read full review »
Dell Axim PDA worth a look
I just sold my old HP iPAQ and got a Dell Axim as the replacement. What a great deal, for the price of my older, and slower HP PDA, I was able to get the latest from DELL. It includes Pocket PC 2003 so anyone upgrading be sure to check your software for compatibility. I expected the speed to be... Read full review »
M-AXIMize your productivity with the power of X!
The review below was written prior to the unit completely failing after only 14 months. Just outside of the warranty, and just as I began to depend on it daily for my business and personal scheduling. Result? I still stand by all that I wrote below... but don't expect too much of the unit, or any... Read full review »
A world-beater Pocket PC. From a former Palm user
First of all I made the leap from Palm OS machines to the Pocket PC world. I had gone from a Palm M125 to the new Zire 71 for $299 -- the one with the builtin camera. I had nothing but problems with the Zire, would not run many old apps, would hang or lock up for no reason. Back to Circuit City it... Read full review »
