Portable weak airconditioner, good dehumidifier.
We ordered this item for a lake vacation at an unairconditioned cottage; our vacation happened to coincide with a record heat wave (90+ F) in the US that lasted our entire holiday (a week). The DeLonghi CF210 8500 BTU Portable Air Conditioner got a good, real-life, test---and it's a mixed bag.

Average Portable Air Con
It does cool the room down. However, the exhaust pipe gets very hot during operation. There is no insulation for the exhaust pipe, which I guess it's normal for a portable air con.
One thing to note is that the portable air con is pretty noisy.

no authorized repair in new york city!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so sorry I bought a DeLonghi. The list of 7 or 8 authorized repair shops in New York City no longer will repair DeLonghi Products. I phoned the co. in Ohio, they gave me a store in Poughkeepsie! The customer service rep Jason was very rude and said he couldn't help me any further b/c warranty... Read full review »
