Super DVD Recorder
My Phillips is a super recorder for the humble class of which I am one. There was a bit of clumsy setting up the wiring, but that is not their fault. I find it easy to use with a well written manual. A Very Good Product
Easy to use. I do not understand why people say the manual
is difficult. It was very simple. Quality pretty good.
Easy to edit by hitting the pause button. Do not forget to finalize the disk when using DVD+R.

GREAT RECORDER/GREAT PRICE!
I've had this recorder over a month and cannot agree more with most of the reviews as to how good it works.
If your source of video is good and you keep the the speeds at 2.5 or less you get a great picture.
One of the reviewers made a comment that the picture quality seems to improve...

DVD Broke after 90 Day Warranty
Buy beware!!!!!! Bought the unit at the end of November 2003 and by the end of February when trying to load a movie the DVD would show "Disc Error -Please eject disc- Playback feature may not be available on disc". In to the 21st Century
The manual is awful. It took a whole weekend to get in to its workings. Even then a neighbour had to help with the freeview.(a UK TV system)
Eventually it was all working and it is a dream. Still to get to grips with editing but that will come I am sure.
If only that manual was useable...

Excellent DVD/VCR Combo
This combo was an excellent addition to my home entertainment center. The installation was just as easy as any other DVD/VCR player I have dealt with and it provided me with many options including the abilty to upgrade. Combo unit- both failed
Yep, not only did half of the combo let me down, but so did the other half. Bought it because it would be only one price of equipment on my entertainment center, it had an antenna out for my old TV, and it looked nice.

Great Recorder, great price
I returned two cyberhome 1500's due to faulty editing experiences. While the cyberhome was cheaper and had easier menu navigation, the Philips has performed 110% better and was worth figuring out the directions.
