Having had a good experience with the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S40, I decided to try the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S60. I got it for $186 - some $30 more than what the S40 cost. The camera has a larger screen than the S40 and features a couple of other improvements.

Just got this camera at Staples Business Depot. Regular price $319 Cdn then sale of $229 + additional coupon savings on line of $30 so net price was a great deal at $199 Cdn (or $160 US) + tax of course.

So for this price, it's great value given these good features:

Pros Small, quality pics, big screen, easy to use.
Cons manual isn't too good, doesn't take good up-close or motion pics (blurry)
Recommended it? Yes

I love my Cyber-Shot DSC-S60. It takes great pictures, very easy to use. This camera replaced my Sony Mavica (uses disks). I love all the different modes you can take pictures in, and you can change the size of the pic right on the camera.

The down sides to this camera are that is takes... Read full review »

Cons horrible-terrible-awful manual, needs rechargeable batteries, annoying USB cord
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased this Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S60 for my parents, but have been using it extensively for the last week to see how it performs. I have owned both Kodak and Nikon brand digital cameras in the past, and had high expectations for this Sony.

The good news is that the camera lives up to... Read full review »

I just bought a Sony Cybershot S60 thinking it would work right out of the box. Boy was I wrong!

I popped the batteries in and I turned on the camera. To my surprise, the camera turned on for half a millisecond and then died on me. I kept trying to turn it on several more times thinking... Read full review »

Wonderful little camera! (That I took back due to battery problem)

Pros Zeiss lens, hand grip, larger size than most digitals in the price range
Cons AA batteries need to be rechargeble type and charged daily.
Recommended it? Yes

SIZE: I always thought that I wanted a small spy camera until I tried to hold some of the small display models at camera stores. The Sony DSC-S60 camera is small but still has something of a grip to hold it. It has a wrist strap, but a neck strap would have been a good option.

LENS: I... Read full review »

I've owned 3 different digital cameras before now... all were cheaper with less MB and performed worse than expected. This is my 2nd Sony camera. My first one (DSC-S85 from 2002 @$500) is an excellent camera - but wife wife wanted something smaller that she could drop into her hand bag.
This camera has features that my older camera doesn't even offer. If you want a small version of the older S85, this is the... Read full review »

This camera seems to be a solid performer for the few days that I have owned it. I have taken many types of pictures with this camera. The digital quality is impressive. To begin, the LCD screen is very, very sharp. Viewing shots taken are easily and clearly seen on the 2.0" screen. This camera has... Read full review »

The picture quality is excellent. Best of all this model was made in Japan; but I know even the sony's made in china are still quality products.
