Good to the last drop! Love our Cuisinart!!
Pretty looking. Fresh cup of coffee in less than 1 minute. No messy cleanup.
Pricey -- machine ($169) and the k-cups (45 cents a cup if bought in bulk).
The Bottom Line:
A definete yes. You'll love the ease and speed of this machine. You pick the size cup and press start!
We splurged...after coveting these machines (both the Kuerig and the Cuisinart one) we decided the stainless steel look would look great in our kitchen and Cuisinart was the winner. We found our machine at Sams Club for $169. This included 24 KCups, plus a year and a half of the carbon filters (and all the normal components of the machine like the self fill k-cup dispenser, cleaning brush, etc). Very easy to set this machine up. It holds a nice amount of water (80oz) so you don't need to fill the water container up all the time (for us it's about every 8-10 uses). You can select how many ounces you want to brew: (4,6,8,10 or 12).
My kids (teenagers) think it's "cool" to make their own hot drink (k-cup varietys include tea, cocoa, apple cider, etc) and they have no trouble using the machine (safely!). I like that it has a display that tells you what to do (open head, not ready, add water, etc). I would say the only complaint we have is that the hot chocolate cup doesn't fully dissolve.
It's a little bit of a challenge figuring out how much ground coffee or tea leaves to add to your "make your own K-cup" filter but after some experimenting we have it down to our tastes. (approximately 1/2 oz of tea leaves). Once you've made your cup give your filter a quick rinse and you are ready to go. You also have the ability to get a cup of hot water only so you can put a tea bag or cocoa mix, etc. in your cup and have it dispense the hot water in to it.
This is a highly recommend product. No messy filters to change, no cleaning out the coffee pot that got left on all day. Quick brew time makes it easy to make a cup even if you are in a hurry.
