Pros simple to operate, makes soft-serve ice cream
Cons freezer bowl requires a day of freezing, ice cream must be frozen more before serving
Recommended it? Yes

As I added items to my bridal registry, I kept asking my husband (then fiance) if he had any requests. He kept saying that the whole thing was my deal and he didn't want to be involved, but one night after a couple of glasses of wine he announced that he wanted me to add an ice cream maker to the... Pros Easy to clean, well built, fast, relatively quiet operation
Cons None
Recommended it? Yes

An ice cream maker is hardly a "must have" or everyday use home appliance. When the urge hits you however; there is nothing quite like making your own ice cream! If you have ever used the old style ice cream machines that used rock salt and tons of ice, the Cuisinart ICE-30BC will surprise you for... Read full review »

Pros Automatic, looks good, and easy to clean
Cons Big, noisy, and plastic components. You need a good freezer.
Recommended it? Yes

Ever since I saw my friend, Jason, using his Cuisinart, I wanted one of these. He made ice cream and sorbet in flavors you could never find in the store. So Santa brought me one for Christmas and while it's not exactly ice cream weather, I have made several batches and it works great.
No messy... Read full review »

Best Value for Ice Cream Makers

Pros Inexpensive and makes good ice cream.
Cons Very noisy. Makes only small batches.
Recommended it? Yes

I debated getting a more expensive ice cream maker ... specifically one that had its own cooling system instead of the frozen bucket. I looked at the Cuisinart with the non-freeze ice cream making and the Lelo Gelato maker, both around or over $200. I waited until this Cuisinart went on sale for... Read full review »

Easy-to-Use, Convenient, Tasty: No Complaints!

Pros quiet, easy to use and clean, recipe booklet
Cons none
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased my first ice cream maker this summer: it is a Cuisinart, and I am delighted with it. I was raised to consider an electric ice cream maker an inferior product—my mom still uses (and swears by) her hand crank model. I wasn't sure if an electric version could freeze as well or operate... Read full review »

Pros Allows you to make any flavor of healthy ice cream or sherbet at home.
Cons None that I can think of.

For those of you who have been reading my food machine related reviews over the last 1-2 years you will have noticed I like to include a few health related bits, with the human population more diseased today than ever before in it's history and as a result the lifespan is going down for the first... Pros Easy to use and clean, powerful enough to make a good stiff ice cream.
Cons I can't think of any.
Recommended it? Yes

Cuisinart has a real winner with the ICE-30BC Ice Cream Maker! I have used mine for over a year now and I can report that it not only makes great ice cream but it does so efficiently and easily.

Simplicity in design and function is the key with this machine. The large 2-quart freeze bowl... Read full review »

Pros It's incredibly easy to use. It actually looks good on the counter.
Cons It's a bit noisy.

When our old ice cream maker finally refused to turn the paddle anymore I went looking for a new machine. We have a lot of allergies in out family so we make homemade ice cream and frozen yogurt pretty regularly. When I ran across this machine I was intrigued because it's big--2 quarts--the machine... Pros Easy to use and clean. Makes ice cream fast.
Cons A little loud when running. Not able to make multiple batches in one day.
Recommended it? Yes

This is a great ice cream maker. It's easy to use and to clean. Just use you're favorite recipe and put the mix in the machine and let it churn for 20 minutes. Any chunky bits, like chocolate chips or nuts, get added in the last 2 to 5 minutes. Just warm water, soap and a sponge clean up the... Read full review »

Pros Simple to operate and a three-year warranty
Cons Nothing too major
Recommended it? Yes

I picked up this machine a year ago.  So far, I have made about 7-8 batches of ice cream.  It takes a little while getting used to how it makes ice cream (soft), but by the second or third batch, you will have the hang if it.

The 2 litre (2 quart) size is plenty big enough.  I use... Read full review »
