Pros Built-In Grinder, Drip-Stop, Programmable, Great Thermos Carafe, Fancy Exterior,...
Cons Very Messy, 10 Minute Brew Time, Bland-Tasting Results, Loud Simplistic Grinder,...
Recommended it? No

Moving in to your own apartment in a new area can be a pretty exciting event until the morning after. Just when you realized you’ve worn out the Snooze button on your alarm clock after staying up most of the night, there’s only one thing on your mind - coffee. Like the majority of... Cons Inadequate brew temperature Only brews 10 cups

The Cuisinart DGB-600BC is a sleek-looking, fully-programmable, revolutionary coffee maker that takes 99% of the guesswork out of brewing a good cup of coffee. It perfectly grinds the beans and even carbon filters the water right before brewing. The coffee is stored in a thermal carafe that keeps... Read full review »

I Prefer My Brew with a Grind on the Side!

bytracim Dec 11, 2007

Pros lots of seemingly nice features: timer, filter, steal-a-cup, etc.
Cons inconvenient to clean
Recommended it? No

When you first think about it, a coffeemaker that grinds your beans for you seems like a great idea – it saves space, you're using the coffee immediately after grinding for the freshest flavor possible – what could be wrong with that? It's a real pain to clean it!

I'm normally a big fan... Read full review »

Has flaws, but one of the best grinder/maker out there

Pros Ultimate fresh coffee Nice overall design Decent size
Cons Uses extra beans extra cleaning pieces loud grinder if that matters
Recommended it? Yes

I did quite a bit of Web research to see what was out there and see if its worth the price. After a month of daily use, I've decided to keep it and write pro's and cons.

Issues/resolutions:
*I read the thermal pot drips while pouring coffee. My sister also has one of these, and know... Read full review »

Pros Great fresh ground coffee, easy clean up, great 3 year warranty.
Cons I don't see any thus far!
Recommended it? Yes

If you like fresh ground coffee, this is the one for you! I love this new grind and brew. I bought it in black, not white. The pop out front basket makes it easier to remove the coffee grounds. It is much easier to clean and use than the older model. It is also much quieter than the older model... Read full review »

Good idea, poor execution..

Pros Stylish, makes good coffee.
Cons Hard to clean. Human and mechanical failure prone.
Recommended it? No

Sounds like a good idea, right? There's nothing like fresh ground, fresh brewed coffee. This coffee maker makes good coffee. So, what's not to like?
Let me count the ways.. :)
(1) There's no way to adjust the grind. The (really noisy, we use it for an alarm clock)grinder just grinds the... Read full review »

Great Coffee But Daily Cleaning is Needed

Pros Great coffee, Stylish
Cons Extra parts to clean, Can not see how much coffee is in pot
Recommended it? Yes

I owned a prior Cuisinart 10-cup Grind and Brew that was white. After 3-4 years, the grinder burned out. I was used to the freshly ground coffee every morning and my kitchen has changed to stainless steel appliances so I went with the DGB-600BC coffeemaker. I agree with the other reviewers that it... Pros I wish the product worked.
Cons The grinder get clogged easily and can create a huge mess.
Recommended it? No

This product is good in theory but poor in performance. The grinder/basket gets clogged with coffee dust and is very messy to clean up. The steam creates ground coffee mud the gets trapped between the grinder and basket so that about every 4-5 pots you have to take the whole thing apart and clean... Read full review »

Pros Freshly ground coffee
Cons A hassle to clean.
Recommended it? No

Well, it does make freshly ground coffee. The carafe doesn't spill when you pour. It has plenty of great features. But none of that is worth the hassle of cleaning all the parts and pieces. As other reviewers have noted, the steam rises up into the grinding chambers creating brown mud that tends to... Read full review »

BIG PAIN to clean and very NOISEY

bycrissyboy Jun 16, 2004
5 Helpfuls 6 Helpfuls Was this review helpful? Comment
Pros makes a decent cup of Joe
Cons LOUD, ten minutes to clean after every pot, very bulky.
Recommended it? No

I saw it first in Dwell magazine; boy did it look cool. It looked even better on the shelf at the store. However, after waking up at 6am to the sound of a 747 jet taking off in your kitchen, it gets tiring. This baby is LOUD when it grinds and it grinds into a high pitch (around 20 seconds or...
