Lasts only as long as the warranty.
This coffee maker only lasted 14 months. Sure, it made good coffee, I could select the amount of time the plate warmer stayed on, and make as little as one cup or twelve - they all tasted great. It also has a water filter. All good points but I think a coffee maker should last at least two or three... Read full review »
Works good when it works
After 10 months, the coffee maker failed and would no longer brew coffee. Tried all the troubleshooting the customer service tech offered. Finally had to return it and they replaced it with a new unit. However, the warranty does not come at no cost. There was a $10 service... Read full review »
Am on my third carafe after a few short months
I have had 2 carafes crack and leak all over. It seems the glass cannot take the heat. I am careful not to jam the carafe in so I know I did not crack it. Has anyone else had this trouble? Very disappointing, especially since replacement carafes run about $25. Read full review »
It was not reliable for me
I will try and start out with the positive aspects of this coffee maker.
Appearance/construction: Both positive aspects of this appliance, especially if you get the newer "black chrome" finish as I did. It looks stylish sitting on the counter, and most people who see it ask what kind of...

It's nothing special
I've had this coffee maker for a couple years now and it just recently quit working. When I went to get it ready for breakfast I filled it up with water, added the filter and coffee grounds, turned it on to brew and nothing happened. No lights, no time on the clock, it was dead. ... Cuisinart DCC-1200, Don't buy it! Makes a really bad cup of coffee
Had this machine for a year, it was expensive. Thought it would be a good purchase after reading consumer guide recommendation; it wasn't. I never got a good cup of coffee from it. No matter what grinds you put in, it tastes exactly the same, which is bad with a skwanky after... Read full review »

Two in as many years - never again
We bought one of these a couple years ago and loved it. Worked fine for about a year and then just quit. Bought another and two days ago it just quit. Red light comes on but nothing else. The heating plate doesn't heat and the coffee doesn't brew. Great machine... Read full review »
Cuisinart DCC-1200 Coffee Maker Fire Hazard - Beware!
I bought the Cuisinart Brew Central DCC-1200 12 Cups Coffee Maker November 14, 2010 from Amazon for $65.25. I have used it approximately 5 times/week. Yesterday, during the brewing process, I heard unusual sounds (gurgling, cracking, hissing) coming from the machine. When I checked it, I found... Read full review »
Short lifespan
I purchased a Cuisinart DCC-1200 coffeemaker which initially was impressive but failed after almost exactly 1 year of use. I contacted Cuisinart who for a service charge sent me a replacement. This lasted 1 year and I again contacted Cuisinart who delayed for 50 days and then told me... Read full review »

The Cuisinart Brew Central Coffeemaker - Does An Old Flame Deserve A Second Chance?
It all started when I jinxed the Mexican-made Black & Decker by praising its longevity less than a week before it ran out of steam. Twelve cups, a dozen years – the numbers ran together like tears at a wedding as I waved goodbye to the recycling guys – new custodians to the shiny-black... Read full review »

Another Lousey Cup of Coffee
We are still in search of a coffee maker that will make the perfect, or nearly perfect cup of coffee. I love flavored coffees and my husband is hooked on Starbucks lattes. So, when our Zorishi bit the dust (and Hammacher Schlemmer promptly gave us a full refund), I began the quest again... Read full review »
An Excellent Coffee Maker, Held Back by a Few Minor Flaws.
Introduction:
The Cusinart DCC-1200 is an excellent coffee maker, and the built in grinder adds greatly to that success. Freshly ground coffee has a significantly better, fresher taste about it; and this maker delivers it. It takes slightly longer to prepare, and has a few annoyances...

Factory-Reconditioned Cuisinart DCC-1200FR Brew Central 12-Cup Coffeemaker, Brushed Stainless Steel
Modern brewing technology with a retro design and stainless steel finish let Cuisinart's Brew Central coffee maker blend with vintage kitchens and ones equipped with fashionable stainless modern appliances, too. The Brew Central makes up to twelve 5-ounce cups of coffee, with two settings for serving either one to four coffee drinkers or five to twelve--just the right amount of joe for a small gathering or a thermos-size day's supply for the whole crew. The Brew Central lets you go from pillow to pot with a digital clock/timer that programs for automatic wake-up coffee, setting up to 24 hours in advance. The coffee maker can also be set to turn off automatically up to four hours in advance. If you can't wait for the brewing to finish, removing the glass carafe from the warming plate automatically pauses the brewing process for a quick pour. The hotplate temperature adjusts for hot, steamy sipping coffee with newspaper in hand, or for cup just warm enough for a swift swill on the way to work. Cuisinart also equipped this coffee maker with a swing-out basket, so you don't have to pull the whole unit out from under the kitchen cabinet to pour in the grounds. A charcoal water filter ensures optimal taste, and a permanent Gold Tone filter eliminates messy paper filters. An indicator-light shows when decalcification is needed for years of reliable use. The coffeemaker measures 14-1/4 inches high, 8 inches wide, and 10-3/4 inches deep (including carafe handle).
