Pros comfortable, attractive
Cons takes a bit of practice
Recommended it? Yes

With my first child, I really could have used Epinions. I think my life would have been much, much easier.

I'd tried a number of baby carriers from the uncomfortable Snugli to the mediocre Nojo Original Babysling. I had all but given up on any kind of baby carrier, but then came my second... Read full review »

Update on September 7, 2001 - Since I wrote this review 2 weeks ago, a recall has been called on Maya Wrap slings made between January and July, 2001. It seems that the welding on the 1/8" rings can come apart. No children have been injured and this recall does not apply to the slings with 1/4"... Read full review »

I had my last baby five months ago, and knew that her babyhood would be gone before I knew it. So I wanted to hold her as much as possible, but with two older kids (3 and 4 years old), I figured this would be a challenge, so I tried several baby carriers.

First I tried the snugli. This... Read full review »

Pros versatile, washable, easy to use
Cons sometimes cuts into shoulder
Recommended it? Yes

The Maya Wrap Sling was the fourth sling I tried with my daughter. It is significantly different than the other three (NoJo, Mother and Child Reunion, and Over the Shoulder Baby Holder). The Maya Wrap comes in several sizes based on height and weight. I opted to go to a larger size than I would... Read full review »

The first thing you should buy for your baby is a safe carseat. The next thing should be a Maya Wrap sling.

I have owned two Nojo slings and a Mayawrap sling. (Along with many other carriers and backpacks.) The Maya sling has been my favorite carrier of all for many reasons.

It is... Read full review »

When I first saw a baby sling being used I was pregnant and at a child and baby fair. I thought the idea initially was absolutely absurd. I figured I had gotten a Fisher Price baby carrier at my baby shower, so why would I need a sling? (I wont hash out the details of the other carrier here, read... Read full review »

I don't know how I ever managed without my sling. When my daughter was born she was constantly needing attention. I had a very hard time getting ANYTHING done. When a friend of mine came to visit she had her 2 week old son in this thing as I called it then. She though I was nuts. She said it was... Read full review »

I became a mother in July 2002. My son is very much a "hold me" baby and I knew that a sling and/or front-pack carrier would be in my future. I tried several brands of carrier with my son: Baby Bjorn, Snugli, Over The Shoulder Baby Holder and Maya Wrap.

The good:

When I was pregnant with my third child I decided I wanted a "sling baby". I wanted to wear my baby around in those cool slings I saw some other mom's using. My first choice was the Maya Wrap. What I read at the website sounded great. I knew I really wanted to get one. Then someone told me how they... Read full review »

I have loved my Maya Wrap sling ever since my daughter was born but never so much as when we recently went on vacation to Europe where taking the Metro was a must and lugging around the stroller was impossible. It was just great because Alexandra, 5 months, slept nearly the entire time she was in... Read full review »
