Use Caution - but so far so good

Pros Small, sleek, nice display, good sound, good reception.
Cons Lock-ups, slow file transfer, belt clip & a/c adapter are seperate.
Recommended it? No

First I got an Ilo because it was cheap only to find that it only played WMA format, not MP3. So I returned it.

Then I got a Sansa M250 which was nice, I guess. But I had a prior Creative 30GB as my source. I was trying to transfer files from one player to another and the Sansa software... Read full review »

A little iffy

bycarolinagirl98 Jan 19, 2007

Pros sound quality, radio tuner and recorder, trendy appearance
Cons difficulty syncing with the computer, Creative Customer Service wasn't very helpful,...
Recommended it? No

This player looks trendy and it feels comfortable in my hand. It appears sturdy. Although I've heard complaints about the controls on the Microphoto, I personally like the controls. I had no trouble getting use to them and prefer them over the traditional toggle control that is on many Mp3 players... Read full review »

Stay away! Once it freezes, you're toast!

Pros none
Cons Froze unexpectedly after just a few months, now cannot use!
Recommended it? No

I was really pleased with this player (though didn't like that you can't view photos & listen to music at the same time). After having it for just months, it froze on me - in the middle of a song, just stopped. I did a ton of research (and found lots of blogs with other people having the exact same... An IPOD Killer? You decide.

Pros Lots of Features, Removable Battery, Standards Compliant, Easy to manage
Cons Internal interoperability (can't view photos while listening to music).
Recommended it? Yes

The Zen Microphoto is the first in a long line of mp3 players that I've owned that I have actually enjoyed having as a consumer electronics techie. Instead of the obvious box-cover specs, I base my decisions on some of the more technical nuances:

The Zen does not force you to use a... Read full review »

Nice Little Toy

byjared81477 Dec 21, 2006

Pros Small, Capacity, Recording, Aesthetics
Cons Small buttons
Recommended it? Yes

I'd had this player about 2.5 months now, and this is my 1st MP3 player that I've owned. Physical description - very small, think of an oldschool box of wooden matches & it is just a pinch bigger. It easily fits into a shirt pocket, but almost too small when it comes to using the buttons. Design -... Read full review »

Pros Great sound quality, bright, colourful display, removable battery, rich in additional...
Cons Battery life not the best around, bundled headphones could be better.
Recommended it? Yes

When my 128 Acer flash stick just proved to be too small to accommodate enough music for sustained listening, I have been on the lookout for a new mp3 player for quite some time now. However, I definitely wanted to avoid the iPod hype and get something a little more unique, something I won't see on... Read full review »

Terrific Player for Overdrive audio books!

Pros Easy to read and adjust $ priced well for the large drive space.
Cons Must use USB to charge, I'd prefer AC Charger
Recommended it? Yes

Big bang for the $$, I listen to Overdrive audio books on my Zen that I download from my local library, it allows you to bookmark your place and easily get back to where you were.

The control pad is large enough and backlit making it easy to do everything. The menu is a big 1.5" color... Read full review »

I have just returned my second V Plus 4gb player this week. The first one froze up while down loading music. I could not turn it off or move within any of the fields. I then reset and cleared the unit and started again ….ditto , then reset it for the third time this time rebooting it. Well it... Read full review »

Maybe Better Than Others, But Still Sucks

byliseey02 Oct 29, 2006

Pros Good look and feel, bright screen, line in-recording, fm tuner, and pretty good sound...
Cons Joystick sucks, firmware isn't great, software sucks, must connect to usb to charge
Recommended it? No

I bought this player because I had a 4th generation ipod that has now broken for the 4th time. I wanted to get something more reliable, so I decided to go with a flash player. I will never buy an ipod again so that ruled out the nano. I went to CNET.com and looked at their editors reviews. Number... Read full review »

Pros Comfortably small, FM radio play and record, easy to use and good menu system
Cons Battery life, headphone jack may be a problem with some headphones
Recommended it? Yes

I have been using a 2nd Generation iPod Mini 4GB player for almost a year and finally ran out of room for my songs. While the iPod has been fairly reliable, it's not able to play audio books in WMA (Windows Media Player) format or DRM (Digital Rights Management)licensing. It also didn't have a...
