UPDATE: (July 13, 2005) Can you believe it??? We are still using the Cosco Alpha Omega car seats we purchased five years ago! Back by popular demand - another car seat review by Dr_Steph. :)

Well, I've done it. I've purged our house of all the old beat-up hand-me-down car seats that we had lying around. Time to check out what else is on the market. Although I already have two car seats that I am very happy with... Read full review »

Pros Adjustable harness; Accommodates kids of many sizes
Cons Not good for the very young; Doesn't double as a carrier
Recommended it? Yes

Being a new dad has brought with it the opportunity to shop for, and evaluate, many different products I never imagined myself needing or buying. I now find myself walking up and down the baby aisles in stores, visiting departments that I once only glanced at from a safe distance.

Since this was written, I realized that I made at least one major mistake... I am correcting the part of the review about the five point harness. Thank you to those who alerted me of this problem.
When we were in the market for car seats, we had a list of features that we would like our seat... Read full review »

My husband and I had been looking for a carseat for our son since he is getting to be really big for his infant carrier. We saw the Cosco Alpha Omega at Toys R Us along with other brands and styles and decided on this one since it can be used for a longer period of time. It goes from 5 to 70 lbs... Read full review »

My wife and I were recently shopping at Price Club when we ran across this 3 in 1 car seat from Cosco. Friends and family swore by this car seat so we decided to give it a try.

After getting it home, we inserted the VHS tape that describes how to install the car seat. It was informative... Read full review »

Pros Rear facing up to 35#
Cons Not for small infants
Recommended it? No

My son has grown fast in the last four months. The car seat that they say should last the first year (up to 20 pounds) was quickly becoming too small. My son hadn't hit that 20# marker, but the seat was too small to be comfortable any more. Plus, it now was very hard to carry him in the seat. For... Read full review »

Cons Not cheap, doesn't come in adult sizes with vibrating back!
Recommended it? Yes

Last month we had to replace my daughter's car seat after we were in a car accident. We'd gotten a lot of great use out of her Evenflo Horizon V, but as she's 2.5 years now, I know we're on our way to the booster seat realm one of these days, so decided it was time for a slightly more "mature" car...
