Great Car seat but a bit heavy

byJamie_B Nov 16, 2001

Pros It could be the only car seat you buy!
Cons It's heavy and a pain to carry! Also the straps twist up too easily.
Recommended it? Yes

This is a good car seat if you can just install it and not have to move it from car to car or have to carry it through the airport. It is heavy and there is no handle on it. I found it difficult to carry it on my Greyhound trip, as I had it strapped to my other car seat and hooked to my "pullman"... Read full review »

Pros Baby sits high. Seat is versatile.
Cons Straps twisting!
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this seat because it was recommended to me by an Emergency Medical Technician. He said it was one of the safer models out there because your child can be quite heavy and still be rear-facing. This was enough to convince me to buy the seat for my hefty 6-month-old.

So far, I... Read full review »

Pros The seat is attractive, durable, easy to use and age-adaptable.
Cons Not ideal for babies under 9 months.
Recommended it? Yes

After months of research, I chose the Alpha Omega 5 point harness model because of it's excellent reputation and price. I had read that the 5 point harness was much safer than the T-bar so I knew that was a must and the Alpha Omega comes in both styles which I liked. That said to me that the... Read full review »

Overall Good

Pros My 19lb 7 month old fits very comfortably, much more so than a carrier seat.
Cons Does not seem to be very secure without the tether.
Recommended it? Yes

I really am happy overall with this car seat. My daughter is on the chunky side and she fits very well in this seat. If you have a small vehicle this seat may be difficult to get in and out of the car but once installed should be fine. I prefer to use the tether as it holds the top of the seat more... not for small vehicles

Pros Sturdy, nice looking, looks comfy for baby.
Cons Price, TOO BULKY, absolutely not for small sized cars.
Recommended it? Yes

We have had this carseat for approximately 7 months and it has held up very well. It is very tolerant to stains, easy to wipe off. I like the dark fabric, babies tend to be messy and like to stain fabrics. I like that it has the base to be able to recline back for smaller children.

Reason for purchase

When my son turned 6 months, he was outgrowing his Evenflo On-My-Way carseat (my opinion for that listed under the Evenflo Trendsetter stroller), and we were suddenly in the market for a larger car seat. My husband and I both like the stylings of this car seat (ours is... Read full review »

Pros comfortable, safe, easy to use
Cons big
Recommended it? Yes

I have two of these seats. One for my 4 year old that is being used as a booster and the other for my 2 year old that is being used as a toddler seat with the 5 point harness. I really like this seat. Neither one used as an infant seat, I use the infant carrier type seat. I am extremely happy with... Read full review »

not good so far in the rear-facing position

Pros goes up to 80 lbs.
Cons too big to fit in car and move around
Recommended it? No

We bought this car seat as our third car seat. The most alluring aspect was that it would fit the baby from 5 lbs. to 80 lbs. The new California law requires kids to be in a car seat or booster up to 80 lbs.

But so far, we're not that happy with our purchase. The seat is very big and... Read full review »

Pros Adjusts easily and will be the only seat you ever need to buy
Cons Harness straps twist if you don't put a little starch on them
Recommended it? Yes

Cosco has finally realized what every parent is looking for in a car seat, and accomplished it! This seat is very sturdy, soft, and easy to use!

It includes a 3 position recline that is easily adjustable with one hand, even for those with weak hands can accomplish this without any great... Read full review »

Compare before buying

10 Helpfuls 11 Helpfuls Was this review helpful? Comment
Pros Rear-faces to 35lbs, all harness settings reinforced, good concept
Cons Bad design, Harness too short
Recommended it? No

I purchased this carseat in February for my then 4 month old daughter who was outgrowing her infant seat. We chose this one (well, my dh chose this one) because it rear-faced to 35 pounds, came with a tether, and because it would work as a booster seat when our daughter outgrew the harness.
