I purchased these Cobra two-way radios at my local Costco store(69$CAD for 2 radios, NiCD batteries, and charger)and planned to use them during an upcoming family ski trip.

High quality, light weight, and cheap.
With many of the features of radios twice the price, the FRS 235 is small, light weight, and produces quality sound. I prefer it to the "Motorola T5420" for those reasons although it is not as sturdy.

Don't use when snowboarding/skiing!
We've taken these with us on several snowboard trips. On almost every trip, either one or both of the radios stopped working. I'm not sure if it was the cold (generally 20-35 degrees) or moist conditions. And yes, both units were fully charged. Don't use these if you really need something... Read full review »
