Pros This thing actually has a moral and a story? WOW.
Cons The transition from comedy to drama in the middle can be jarring.
Recommended it? Yes

It seems I can always count on my sister for a good comedy movie recommendation. See, I'm not really into comedies all that much, because most of them are predictable as heck. And when she mentioned Click to me, my expectation that it would be more of the same of more of the same was only slightly... Read full review »

Adam Sandler Had a Magical Remote in Click

bydragonfire88 Dec 29, 2006

Pros Entertaining movie that had several funny scenes.
Cons Some silly things didn't work for me. Not a good balance between funny and serious.
Recommended it? Yes

Adam Sandler became famous mainly for his very silly movies. I have enjoyed some of those movies, though I have to be in the right mood to really enjoy them. In the last few years he has branched out to take some more serious roles. The trailers made it seem like Click would be more like his... Read full review »

Don't We All Click Through Life Sometimes?

Pros humor, heart-wrenching moments, touching lesson, good Sandler, great supporting cast
Cons deja vu from other films, some laughable though in-poor-taste humor
Recommended it? Yes

It seems like I never get to watch movies anymore, especially from start to finish. But last month, after spending the day putting up Christmas decorations and getting my daughter tucked into bed (after tantrum number "I lost count"), it was still early enough to sit through an entire show. I... Read full review »

Pros A few funny moments here and there, generally positive message
Cons Not very funny, predictable and annoying plot

If you've seen even one of the five million previews for Click that have inundated society for the past year, you know the basic plot. Busy father, husband, and businessman Michael Newman (Adam Sandler) ends up with a "universal remote." This unique controller allows him to pause, fast-forward,... Read full review »

When I first saw the coming attractions for this movie, I had no intention of seeing it. I'm not a fan of Adam Sandler and felt that Click would be too goofy of a movie for me to really enjoy it. Then, a coworker saw it. He said that it was a lot more serious than most of Sandler's movies, but... Read full review »

I had pretty low expectations for this movie but there was nothing else playing so I just decided to this movie. I didn't think it would great by the preview, because I didn't think the story was very good, but I was very wrong this is probably the best Adam Sandler movie I've ever seen and I... Click is not entirely a comedy, but it carries a good message

Pros Very funny in the first half
Cons Not that funny in the second half
Recommended it? Yes

Adam Sandler's Click was a bit of a surprise to me, because it wasn't the straightforward sci-fi comedy I expected it to be. I know that Sandler is trying to branch out with more dramatic roles, and he gets to do a bit of acting in this film. You might enjoy this movie, but don't go into it... Read full review »

Click: I Wish I Could Rewind My Life and Get Those Two Hours Back

bybefus Jun 8, 2007

Pros Walken; Sandler (at moments); the creative premise
Cons Obnoxious humor; premise not delivered on; good supporting cast wasted
Recommended it? No

On the lookout for a light, funny movie the other evening, my husband and I picked up Click, the 2006 comedy starring Adam Sandler. Although neither of us is a huge Sandler fan, we'd been intrigued by his more dramatic/comedic turn in 2004's quirky Spanglish. Added to that, the premise of Click... Read full review »

Click Special Edition DVD

Directed by Frank Coraci THE WEDDING SINGER THE WATERBOY CLICK is about more than how much fun it would be to fast-forward through all of the boring and unpleasant parts of life. Instead it reinforces the importance of making time for the most important things in life with family at the top of the list. Overworked Michael Newman Adam Sandler just can't catch a break. His boss David Hasselhoff doesn't want to hear that he has family commitments and his family is upset that he never has time for them. Michael might be doing the right thing in order to get ahead but his wife Donna Kate Beckinsale and children feel neglected. His breaking point: the multitude of remote controls in the house are driving him nuts and Michael ventures out late one evening in search of a universal remote control to simplify his life. His quest leads him to the back room at Bed Bath Beyond and Morty Christopher Walken the archetypical mad scientist with wild hair a bowtie and zany glasses. Michael returns home armed with a top-of-the-line universal remote but soon realizes that it does more than control the household appliances: the new remote actually works on time and people. With a click Michael finds himself fast-forwarding through fights with his wife muting her irritating best friend and changing the volume of his dog's bark. He's even able to return to scenes from his past complete with commentary. But when his life begins fast-forwarding out of control Michael begins to understand the importance of spending time with the people you love being invested in your life and living every day to the fullest. Sandler is likable as Michael and Walker is simultaneously dorky and creepy as Morty.

So when he meets Morty (Christopher Walken), a loopy sales clerk, he gets him to bypass life's little distractions with increasingly hysterical results. But as Michael gleefully mutes, skips and scans past his family and friends, the remote gradually takes over his life and begins to program him, in this fast, funny and out-of-control comedy adventure.
