Lovely Lemon
I loved the look of my Impala but it came with so many complications. It first started with the ABS light coming on (which was covered with black tape) that shouldve been my first red flag. Along with the low coolant light coming on which i also got repaired Then one day while AT WORK it... Read full review »
Rock steady at 298,000 miles
I bought my 2001 Impala LS 3.8L used after researching numerous vehicles. The LS was one of the few at the time with a driver's side side air bag in addition to the steering wheel airbag. The Imp replaced an 89 Suburban with 300,000 miles. I was looking for better gas... Read full review »
It is everything I expected in a car
I bought my Impala LS at the end of November of 2001 as a new car. From the word go, it has been a very pleasing vehicle to own. I have the 3.8 litre engine, and it provides plenty of power for driving mountainous roads where passing distances can be short. I used it a year for a lengthy work... Read full review »
People who love cars love Chevy
I love this car. Too bad I havent known about epinions for long. I've had this car for about 5 yrs now. She had endured everything I can put her through. Thousands and thousands of miles and abuse this car is a champ of champs. Read full review »
STILL LIKE IT AFTER 77K MILES
I have had about 10 new cars so far in this life. The 01 Impala has been the best so far .... better than Toyota or VW and others. The 3800 engine is still full of power and never breaks down. Only one set of brakes in 77 K miles and the addition of Michelin tires made the drive even better. It... Read full review »
MEDIOCRE CLUNKER
A mediocre car at best. The Lumina (Impala's predecessor) was a more reliable vehicle; had less rattles, rode quieter and handled more predictable.
Bought mine used and then at 74K miles the trans valve body and the intake manifold gasket went out - this cost $2500+ to fix.

My wife bought a lemon????????
Back in 2001, my wife decided to buy a new car. We decided on the 2001 Impala because she needed the trunk space for the type of work she does. Since I have never liked Fords and having a very good experience with a 1994 Lumina, we decided on this car. We went to a factory-authorized dealer some 20... Read full review »
2001 Impala LS Lemon Buyer Beware
After driving what I thought was going to be a great car, has turned out to be quite the headache.
A spun bearing at at roughly 40,000 miles = a new engine ($3500). So much for the 3.8L being "bulletproof", this thing was babied, and oil changed every 3,000miles max.
Gm didn't...

The 2001 Impala LS has been a great car to own and to drive
Before the 01 Impala LS 3.8 I had a 99 Taurus and before that a Toyota. The Impala completely beats the hell out of both of them. It is now 3 years old with 58K on it and it still has had only minor problems and still runs just like new. I have maintained it according to the book but that does not... Read full review »
Great car
I bought my first Impala, 2001,after reading the safety reviews on it. It was rated five stars (5 out of five) for safety.
I love it. Its comfortable, steers well, and is very nice looking. After I bought it my oldest son decided it would be great for his family and now my husband is buying...

My Kids and I love this car!
We bought a 2001 Chevy Impala two years ago and we all love it. It is very spacious, especially in the back seats where my two boys who are still in car seats sit. Even if my husband or I need to get in the back with them, there is plenty of room for us. I found that this car was just as spacious... Read full review »

2001 Chevrolet Impala LS
My wife and I bought a 2001 Chevrolet Impala LS new in Feb. 2001. We love the car. It drives good, has good power (for a family car). Has plenty of trunk space. Gets great gas mileage.
The cons are the cab interior is noiser then other cars on the highway. I think thats why the radio...

LOVER
I purchased the 2001 Impala LS in November of 00'. Since then I have been nothing short of impressed on a daily basis. All amenities are offered that can possibly be offered in it's class, save climate control. An option well compensated for with the dual climate control (which every married man... Read full review »
I Love My '01 Impala LS
The year before we bought our Impala, we rented one for our family vacation and drove it across the country. We were impressed, to say the least. Since owning our Impala, our opinion of the vehicle has not changed.
The car handles well and has good response even in tight turns. You have...

Imapla is a winner for Chevy
As a previous Honda Civic owner, I was real reluctant to buy an American car. I had my share of woes to tell. However, when my mother-in-law bought this car, she loved it and never complained about any quality issues. So with a great financing rate, I decided to give it a try.
Wow! What a...

Almost satisfied with my 01 LS
We were looking to trade up our faithful family car, a 1992 Crown Vic. I wanted a full size car, with a large trunk, and less than 2 years old used. After searching and searching for another Crown Vic, my wife suggested an Impala test drive. This car is roomy, and has a BIG trunk, so that met my... Read full review »
GREAT CAR FOR MONEY
In May of 2001, I bought my wife a new (left over) Impala. I was skeptical in buying this car. Chevrolet went from a magnificant rear wheel drive V-8 machine (Impala), to a V-6 front wheel drive Impala. My wife had bothered me, since October of 2000 to buy her one of these "new" Impalas. I just... Read full review »
Dignified Muscle Car
I hate buying cars. Last time I did so was in 1988 ?a Chevy Caprice. It served me well, but, after 220K miles, had reached the end of its useful life. Time for another car. I decided to try the internet. I don?t think there even WAS an internet in 1988. At least, not one with cars on it.

Competitive choice
The new Impala was my first new car ever; after extensive research I ended up getting the 2001 Impala LS; other choices I took a closer look at were the Ford Taurus, Pontiac Grand Prix, Dodge Intrepid and the smaller Olds Alero. Criteria boiled down to safety, performance, looks, price and... Read full review »
