Downhill once it hits 50K
I bought my 2000 Chevy Blazer when it had I think 20K miles on it, in 2003. It ran great and was loaded (leather interior, all power everything, etc). It pretty much needed no repairs for a couple years that I owned it, other than your average maintenance things like oil changes, windshield... Read full review »
The 2000 Blazer ZR-2 model is a strong offroad vehicle, but don't expect high reliability.
I ordered my 2000 Blazer ZR-2 in August of 1999, and it was delivered in October. This was right in the middle of the era where "family" SUV's dominated the new car market, so to get a true offroad capable SUV I had to special order it.
What Is A ZR-2?
The ZR-2 designation means...

Not Awful but not Great
I bought my 2000 blazer in 2003. It has had it's problems but all in all it has been ok. I was new to buying cars so I didn't do any research or anything......my mistake. The safety rating is awful and I think I read some where that the blazer is one of the deadliest vehicles to own. Nice!! My... Read full review »
good but a gas guzzler
i paid 6,500 for mine last year "oct 05" and it had 64,000 miles at the time. good deal! i have not too many complaints other than weird noises like thumps and metal clitching noises that i believe is a ball joint issue. yet to fix yet! good looking truck but lots of blind spots so becareful... I wouldn't buy another one...
Truck was great for a while, then went to lift the seat handle and it snapped off (read in a few different reviews this has happened to others), had to completely replace my 4 wheel drive module ($3,000 later), the electrical is crap, my back rear wiper won't work, keep having problems with ball... What a 36,00 mile lemon!!!
I have a well maintained 2000 Blazer with 36,000 miles. I have so far replaced the alternator ($400), 4 wheel drive electrical connection problem making it jump into 4 low at random ($200), power steering pump ($440), complete automatic transmission and torque converter rebuild ($2,700), and now a... Blazer 2000 for sale!
I bought the Blazer 2000 4x4, used, in 2003 because I feel secure in this vehicle during winter and also it drives really nice. However, it is costing me a fortune in repairs. The rear defroster died, I had the bearings replaced after 5 months, the ignition coil left me stranded en route, I now... Read full review »
Do Not Buy This Vehicle- GM GARBAGE
I bought a NEW(13 miles) 2000 Chevy Blazer in Sept. of 2000. The vehicle did great until the warranty ran out. I took excellent care of this truck and had the following problems:
1. Seat levers broke- Expect this on every Blazer
2. Oil Cooler Lines leaking- Expect this on every Blazer...

2000 Chevy Blazer (What a Piece of Crap)
Replaced both front wheel bearings at 48,000 miles. Replaced them again at 72,000 miles. Lost my Fuel level indicator at about 50,000 miles. Costs $400 for a tune up because the mechanic needs to pack a lunch to even get to the spark plugs. (poor design) Now my fuel pump just went at 90,000. The... Read full review »
Anyone have a spare TRANSMISSION?
I have a 1998 jimmy, bought it 3 years ago. went from getting 600km to a tank on the highway, to 400km at the most, and thats with a full tune up, o2 sensors, and a carbon clean. Ive changed the universal joints, twice. ball joints, tie rods, full exhaust system, windshield wiper motor, and the... Read full review »
fun to drive when I am not worrying about it falling apart
We purchased a used 2000 chevy blazer that had app 40k miles on it. It is a fun to drive vehicle that is comfortable but seems like the mechanical issues leave a lot to be desired. The brakes run out it the vehicle about every 6 mos. We had to replace ball joints right away and there is a strange... Read full review »
Still Loving My 2000 Chevy Blazer
When my husband purchased this 2000 Chevy Blazer 2-door SUV in October 1999, I was a little bit afraid to drive his new "baby." However, he kept pushing me to take it for a spin, and once I did, I fell in love with it. Unfortunately for him, it became my baby and I still drive it today (February... Read full review »
2000 Blazer is great, except for 1 problem
This was a great vehicle for me. I had the LT and all the toys on it with leather, sunroof, etc. The one problem was that i wanted to buy out the lease at the end of the 3 years, but the payoff was over $19,000 !!! Read full review »
Chevy has really sold out the S10 line
First of all, we are a Chevy S10 couple. When we met, I was driving my '95 S10 Pickup (which I purchased after having driven my '89 into the ground!) and she was cruising around in her '91 S10 Blazer. We both like the look of the line, as well as the quality and features available for the price... Read full review »
Happy with my Purchase
Overall this vehicle is a great buy. The features are so nice, cup holders in front and back - especially great when children are in the back seat, lights come on automatically at dusk, daylight running lamps, back seats go down for more carry room. The front doors unlock automatically when you... Read full review »
Blazing along
When my husband decided we needed a vehicle that he could take camping, we did some serious deliberating. Should we get a regular pick-up? Well, the price is right, but there are 4 of us in the family. Who doesn't get to go? An extended cab pick-up? Sure, we'd all fit, but who wants to pay $18,000... Read full review »
a great car for a family of four
i purchased my chevy blazer in the year 2000. only i purchased the two door. the four door was 10 grand more, or so i think. i've had my blazer for about a year now and i haven't had any trouble with it. my two kids ( that are 12 and 14) fit great in the back seat. they have enough leg room to be... Comfortable ride but handles like a full-size
(This is my Mother's vehicle which I have driven far distances on many occassions)
Our 2000 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4 door we thought was a smart investment. It's a roomy SUV with a comfortable and quiet ride. The seating is comfortable in general but I can see where the rear seat is really only...

Nice Vehicle
We purchased a second Blazer. Our first Blazer was a 1995. I liked it, but not the way I like the new one. Not much changed in appearance other than the front end and some of the interior.
We have a Black LT with dark gray leather interior. This is a nice looking SUV. The 2000 Blazer is...

The cure to driving in snow.
After writing a review on my mom's Buick Century that I love so much, I kind of feel weird starting this and knowing that I can't honestly say this is my favorite car. However, there are a lot of great points about the 2000 2-door Blazer that my dad owns. First of all, it's the best vehicle I know... Read full review »
