Pros Good buy that delivers good video, pretty good sound quality.
Cons Wow, that on-off button could be improved!
Recommended it? Yes

I moved into the DVD-camcorder scene a bit late - I think I bought this one at a point when several (other brands) cameras came out, which meant I got to take advantage of a good rebate and sale price. But that's not why I bought it. I bought it (in May 06) 1- on the recommendation of a salesman... Read full review »

Pros Ease of use Stylish appearance, ergonomic layout.
Cons No external mic. socket or hotshoe.
Recommended it? Yes

I have owned and used Canon Professional EOS still cameras for years, and found their qualities to surpass the competition by a comfortable margin. When choosing a camcorder, I had only domestic use in mind, and had to throw away preconcieved ideas about what features would be required. In my final... Read full review »

Pros 1. easy to use. 2. good video images.
Cons 1. video usually non-transferable. 2.data loss.
Recommended it? No

It's pretty simple to use which is great and WHEN it works I like the quality of video. I've attempted numerous times to transfer video to the computer for editing, etc. Mostly there are false errors that do not allow the transfer. Canon blames software, software blames hardware, etc. etc. In the... Read full review »

Pros Nice size and grip. Nice quality of video in bright conditions.
Cons Low quality pictures. No built in lamp. Finalizing the DVD requires AC conection
Recommended it? Yes

This is the first video camera I personally own.
We bought it for the birth of our first child and that was indeed the first time we used it besides the tests I made to be sure it was working.

The camera is easy to use from the very beginning. I spent about 10 minutes reading the... Read full review »

Pros Very small size.
Cons Unstable media loses data
Recommended it? No

During the three months that I have owned the unit, I have encountered two hardware errors causing lost data.

The DVD media appears to be very unstable when used with the DC-10. When it encounters an error, it can lose all of the footage recorded on it.

The situation I have... Read full review »

I would avoid Canon DVD Camera's

bysjyjoe1 Nov 17, 2007
1 Helpfuls 2 Helpfuls Was this review helpful? Comment
Pros Good zoom. audio and video quality.
Cons Really NOT a reliable way to capture your once n a lifetime family moments.
Recommended it? No

3 of 6 Memorex disks could not finalize.. the problem is that if you record the disk and don't leave 10% unused the disk can only be played in the camera! This is a serious bug, given that you have only 30 minutes of record time.. Really a lousy piece of equipment!

Customer service... Read full review »
