Really good decently priced camera
I really liked this camera. I use it for better pictures than my iphone can take. It's really good for general use and for those who aren't professional photographers. The screen is really clear and displays pictures really well as a display. It is very quick with the turning on and responses. The... Read full review »
a compact and good camera to take
I bought this camera for it's size. Indoors in a dim room you MUST be close to the subject. Also, if you want to turn the flash on (as opposed to "auto") you have to put the camera into "manual" mode and then turn it on. It's not hard to do but the three previous cameras I owned had a seperate... Read full review »
Canaon PowerShot S100
The Canon PowerShot S100 is a camera suitable for those who are demanding and on-the-go, as well as those who wish to capture family moments and outings. It provides very good image quality, while it remains slim, stylish and suave! The large shutter enables instant shots and comfortable use. In... Read full review »

Impressed by this model by Canon...
My parents got me this camera as a graduation gift a few years agp. As a free lance and photo journalist, I had spent years working with high-tech, company-owned cameras, so I wasn't too sure about owning a camera that wasn't worth a small fortune. However, I must admit that I have been impressed... Read full review »

S100 So easy to use even and Old Pa.Dutchman can
The S100, so easy to use even and Old Pa.Dutchman can use it with ease.
It was a gift from our son and we love it. We are constantly amazed at the great pictures we can get with our S100. Yet we are not over whelmed with complex instructions or features you need to be a rocket scientist...

1.5 years then problems
I loved this camera when I first got it. It was portable, was easy to use, and took good pictures After 1.5 years with this camera, I have had nothing but problems. First, the camera started shutting off by itself. So you get the picture you wanted all ready and when you push the button to take the... Read full review »
First & favorite digital camera
When I saw commercials for the Elph, I knew that I had to buy one. They are so small, functional, and durable. (At least I've knocked mine around a few times, and it still works great).
Also, since it's such a small camera, I'm more likely to take it with me and take a lot of pictures, (it...

Fatal Failure After Two Years
After paying $500 for it a little over two years ago, the camera no longer takes properly exposed daylight pictures. All are severely over-exposed no matter what automatic or manual settings are chosen. While they display properly on the camera's LCD when taking the shot, the stored pictures are... A Take Anywhere Wonder
My wife and purchased this camera in November of 2000 when we decided to build a new home. The main advantage of this camera was it's small size. We found that most "Show-Homes" in our area don't allow you to take photos. The Canon Digital Elf is small enough to hide in the palm of your hand,... Read full review »
you will fall in love with the camera
I have been using this camera for a year and a half and have taken more than 2500 pics in different occasions. The little S100 has followed me to Switzerland snow mountain (-15 degrees there), to paris, to Berlin, to Vancouver, and now, I am typing up this message with my S100 besides me in Japan... Great Value
Overall, this is a fantastic buy. I've owned this camera since October of 2001 and have gotten a lot of use out of it.
The quality of the pictures it takes are good, even when you leave it in its default setting which takes the most number of pictures but gives you the lowest resolution...

S100 - TINY, TINY, TINY
This is a great line, by Canon. However, if you can afford the S110 or S200 cameras, then I would definitely recommend going in that direction. The size CANNOT be beat, though. At only 2.1 mega pixels, it is pretty good. Turn off the LCD in order to (significantly) extend the battery life.

Not yet two years into it, I must replace this camera
I bought this the S100 (aka Digital Elph) in January 2001 for my wife. She wanted an Elph camera - for it's small size and convenience - and I refused to go back to film (especially APS film). I have been using digital since 1997 when I bought my first Olympus in Hong Kong for $1400 :(

Good value
Think about real world: who needs more than 2 mega pixels ?
Unless you're into printing your pictures (and you've got the printer for it), DSCs are about storing/viewing pics on a PC, and sending pictures thru the web, and 2 megapixels is about as good as it gets in today's world.
If...

Take the Elph off the Shelph
Alright, this camera is a little expensive, ranging from 300 bucks to about 500, but in the end it is definatly worth it. Its not the top of the line digital Canon Elph, there is one that takes miniature movies (30 seconds)which is pretty niche.
Advantages-- The S100 is the midget of...

Now You See It, Now You Don't
The Canon S100 is truly remarkable. So small it can fit into your pocket. But can you get a great photo from such a small camera? You bet you can! I was astounded when I printed my first picture. The quality was as good as any 35mm film camera. The S100 is so simply to use. Just point and shoot... Read full review »
The battery charger is amall, too
Few reviews and almost no manufacturer brochures explain the total traveling size and weight of digital cameras.
The PowerShot S100 is not only small in itself, but its battery charger is cordless and compact. This dramatically reduces the total carrying size. (My old cameras had bulky...

Canon Powershot S100- Compact and Affordable
I wanted a small, easy to use camera to replace the 35mm point-and-shoot I usually carry in my jacket while on ski trips. The S100 has some great features for skiing: 1) The size. Fits easily in an inside jacket pocket. 2) The movie option. Ok, the resolution is pretty poor and you can't zoom but... Read full review »
