Pros Quality Construction, Excellent Picture Quality, Great Design
Cons Heavy, Bad in Low Light

I'll tell you my experience of using this camera. Like others, it takes low quality pictures in low light condition. So, don't expect to have something special from it. For that money, of course you get good megapixels, good manual tweaking, and good focusing.

If you wanna record some... Read full review »

I have to admit, when I purchased this camera I was a little nervous. There was a lot of hype surrounding it. The people at Best Buy, my friends, reviews. I am not afraid to say that it lives up to it. I have had about 4 different point and shoot digital cameras before this and was not pleased with... Read full review »

I bought Canon G9 on black friday 2007 at the price of USD$420.00 (MSRP: USD$499.00).
This is a good camera with 12.1 MP. High ISO. Nice photo shoot for normal use. This camera is obviously far more better than those point and shoot camera. If you are the person who like to play around with... Read full review »

I purchased the Canon G9 2.5 months ago, I have taken pictures on multiple settings and it is an inferior product that takes average pictures.  I had a Canon PowerShot S70 for about 5 years until I broke it.  It would have cost $145 to fix so i decided I should just purchase a new camera.

Pros Great image quality Supports Raw and Manual Control
Cons Bulky, barely fits in pocket ISO performance isn't so great past 800.

Let me start off by saying that this is just about the best point and shoot camera available right now. This is also the camera that professional photographers use as their pocket, go everywhere camera. The main reason why this camera is so popular with the professionals and astute amateurs is that... Photography is one of my few serious hobbies. Late last year, I bought myself the newest Semi-Professional SLR Canon had to offer -- the EOS 40D. The 40D has traveled almost everywhere with me around the city since then, but it felt like a couple things were missing. I can't take my 40D everywhere... Read full review »

I have had my canon G9 for approx three wks now. Although I am still learning the basics of the camera, it takes awesome pictures. The camera has more than ample setting for you to take pictures in all sort of environments, to include taking pictures in low light or no light at all.

The best advanced point & shoot on the market. 12.1 mp Designed for the photographer who wants more from their shots than a point and shoot can give and doesn't want to carry around a DSLR.

I have been a Canon PowerShot enthusiast for years now. Started from S100, went through S200, S320, S400, SD200, SD550, and my favorite SD700 which I left in India during one of my trips.

Anyways, after SD700 I started looking at G-series and was extremely excited when G9 came out. I got... Read full review »

Introduction

My Canon A620 digital camera has been a faithful backup camera for over a year now. It does pretty much everything I ask of it and it's made me a big fan of Canon's A-series cameras. The next step up from this series of camera is Canon's G-series, which is supposed to be the... Read full review »
