Pros Great photos, manual settings, LCD screen, ease of downloading photos
Cons Too bulky to carry around to take photos on vacation
Recommended it? Yes

I've owned the G5 for about a year now. I've taken over 2,000 photos, mostly of a couple toddlers around the house and outside. I bought this camera after much research and trying out my frontrunners in the stores where I could find them.

I've used it to take sports photos (soccer) as... Read full review »

Pros Great for action shots, convertible monitor, nice video!
Cons A bit large and heavy. Flash isn't enough in low light.
Recommended it? Yes

I received this camera as a gift from my husband. We also purchased the larger memory card.

This camera takes some of the best action shots I have ever seen!

I do sheep herding with my dog and have gotten some professional quality shots of the dogs and sheep in action.

Pros Autofocus, color accuracy, recovery speed, battery life, hot shoe, accessory lenses...
Cons Haven't found any yet !
Recommended it? Yes

This is my second digital camera which I purchased because it was more compact (design) than my first (a Minolta DiMage 7i). As a serious photographer and an engineer, I feel it is a superb camera and I'm very pleased with its purchase. It has a highly accurate autofocus system which is fast - I've... Read full review »

Pros Awesome pics, brilliant color!!!
Cons None for me!
Recommended it? Yes

LOVE this camera. Have had it 4 mos. It is not a camera you can keep two weeks and give up. You have to read directions and practice. I saw some purple fringing but not much and usually easily avoided. As far as shooting in bright light, just select a different setting, like scenery and it just... Read full review »

I have bought the Canon G5 for 2 years. It is still in good condition and can deal with the sightseeing and natural scene. But the focus speed is not fast enough which may unreasonable for the flying birds. Read full review »

Pros The G5 takes great pictures. The menu is pretty easy to navigate.
Cons Reliability has not been good for me. Bulky and auto-focus indoors sometimes slow
Recommended it? No

I got the Canon G5 back in November when I did the trade up program with Canon for my old G3. My G3 digital display did not work on a family trip, but the camera appeared to be taking pictures. Upon returning from the trip I was able to download all the pictures from the trip, even the images I... Read full review »

Pros Great Digital Photos
Cons Lens barrel can intrude the bottom corner of the viewfinder.
Recommended it? Yes

My first digital camera and I am really pleased. The G5 is very easy to use and takes great photographs. Full manual options if required. Excellent user guide. Remote control is a bonus, so is RAW mode, white balance and compact flash to store images on. If only the lens barrel didn't intrude the... Read full review »

I had just had my second child when I decided that I needed a digital camera to capture all the smiles and laughs. I had a one megapixal and it was not cutting it. So I researched for a few months and decided on this awesome 5 megapixal camera.

I know nothing about cameras, but this one... Read full review »

Pros 5MP, manual control, great fold-out lcd, 4x optical zoom
Cons slightly more noise than the g3
Recommended it? Yes

this is a full-featured camera that you use as a point-and-shoot and still have the flexibility to be more creative when you want. this helps fill the void between the excellent canon s50 5MP digicam and the d-SLRs.

pros:
- excellent resolution from a small lens - 5MP power!

I became a mom a few months ago and decided a new digital camera was a must have. After tons of research, my husband and I decided on the Canon Power Shot G5. We absolutely love it. It's easy to use.
